Tangalle is a hidden gem!
Tangalle is a hidden gem! So many wonderful beaches around the town. I stayed by the Goyambokka beach but preferred the neighbouring Silent beach, which was longer and so beautiful. The town has very little to offer.
The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.Guest review byCornelisSpain

We had a scooter so getting to town was easy. The host welcomed us really nicely, took to the beach to look for turtles, and prepared delicious fish upon our request:) the beautiful Tangalle beach is within walking distance and if you fancy a proper coffee there is a little pumpkin cafe nearby with best coffee we had in Sri Lanka! Welcomed by a delicious drink, the owner arranged a scooter to be delivered to the hotel (brand new one) The room is very spacious and light, and has amazing views. It was the first stay where we were given more than 1 towel each. There was a big locker in the room where you can keep your valuables, and also a fridge. Very friendly people, the reception can arrange all sorts of excursions. Nice restaurant and bar, with both Sri Lankan and Western options. Guests can use the swimming pool of the hotel next door, it even has a pool bar. Fantastic to take a plunge with views of the ocean after a hot day.
