Company info

After my studies, I always found time to travel extensively and for long periods of time. I realised then how one appreciates finding a place where you feel at home, live as locals do; a place where you can enjoy breakfast with your choice of music in the background, where you can shop the local foodstores and cook a beautiful dinner for everybody. Well, even better if this place costs you roughly half what a hotel would cost you, and with all the comforts of home! I am passionate about interior decoration and I hope this is reflected in the style of the apartment, which I designed as If I would be living there myself. Travelling in many parts of the world made me quite laid back I guess; I just expect my guests to have a wonderful time in Lisboa and to love the city as much as I do.

Property info

We travel whenever we can, and we absolutely fell in love with Lisbon. We got this place in 2016 and renovated it with great care and passion, as we want our guests to feel at home. Another lighter renovation was completed in 2022. The building is well kept and traditional, so we kept all the traditional features in the flat : wooden floors, mouldings, inner wooden shutters, full length windows which open onto a quaint cobblestone street, to name a few. But we also tried to offer all the modern conveniences needed for a relaxed and pleasant stay : modern and stylish decoration, high quality bedding, fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances (large fridge/freezer, stove, oven/micro-wave, dishwasher, washing-machine/dryer, coffee machine), fast Wifi. The bathroom has also been fully renovated, and there is a large shower with a constant supply of hot water. The apartment is bright and sunny all through the day, and even in Winter. Set in a quiet street, just off the iconic Avenue "Avenida da Libertade", our flat is peaceful and quiet both during the day and in the evening. A stay in our apartment offers guests the chance to experience the typical and charming LIsbon experience!

Neighborhood info

Rua do Cardal de Sao Jose is a picturesque and narrow cobblestone street lined with traditional buildings, typical of Portuguese architecture. The flat is two minutes from the famous Avenida da Liberdade & the Avenida metro so is very central, but there is very little traffic, making it very quiet day and night (Lisbon is generally speaking a loud and noisy city, so peace and quiet is a luxury here in the center of the city!). A pleasant and short 10 minute stroll along the Avenida and its luxury stores, historical buildings, prestigious hotels, opera houses, theaters, kiosks, gardens and beautiful mosaic pavements brings you to: Praca do Comercio, Rua Augusta, Parque Eduardo VII, Marquis de Pombal square and Torel, Restauradores square (the corner stone of Baixa). Rossio historic train station, where you might catch a train for a day trip to Sintra, Caiscais or Estoril. Chiado and Principe Real. Castelo/Alfama and Mouraria districts. Bairo Alto, full of lively bars and restaurants. Around the apartment itself, there are many restaurants and stores, from local and cheap to luxurious on the Avenue itself, making our neighbourhood the perfect mix of tradition and modernity!!
