Nestled in the heart of Chiado, The Ivens reimagines the adventures of two Portuguese explorers, with wildlife-inspired interiors that feel like a distinctly personal, luxury stay.
From the moment we arrived to celebrate our engagement, the experience felt thoughtful. A bouquet of flowers, chilled champagne and delicate desserts set the tone. Our room struck a balance between refined luxury and easy comfort, with soft linens, lighting and everyday essentials that delivered a sense of calm after a day wandering Lisbon.
We toasted to the occasion in Rocco, the hotel’s sprawling bar, which draws both locals and travellers - It was spirited without ever feeling loud. The negroni sours were a highlight and a definite must-try. Breakfast the next morning was fresh, generous and served with that effortlessly warm Portuguese service - thoughtful, convivial, but never intrusive. What distinguishes The Ivens is its blend of stylish design, intimate luxury and genuine hospitality. It doesn’t shout luxury, it embodies it in thoughtful touches, a spirited bar scene and the feeling that this is a place to celebrate life’s moments - big or small.

In Lisbon, there are many beautiful hotels, but few offer such a seamless mix of place, personality and luxury.

Excellent location in a super neighborhood , easy check in, clean and comfortable room with great hot water in the shower! Staff at front desk were excellent.
