I didn't eat breakfast, however my brother did and wasn't much of a variety like another LaQuinta's I've stayed at. Not sure about the quality of the food either.

I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid west to visit my children. This was my first time at the Roadway Inn. I will stay here from now on instead of the other Motels in town that are double the price, and the bonus, it is on Route 66 ++++

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service in the 1980’s or 90’s. The train depot has been converted to a museum. The charm of vintage vehicles and Historic U.S. Route 66 is evident everywhere. Recommended restaurants: Del’s and Kix 66.

Street signs are small but staff at Desert Inn very helpful giving directions! Stonehouse Ranch Steakhouse great choice for nice dinner, not far away! Great change from Taco Bell or McD's (both close by!)!

We always like going through Tucumcari when we travel out west. Sometimes we stop and shop. The motet accommodations were very nice. Breakfast was great.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the pet fee. Fees should be according to size of pet.

The property it self was nice enough, but my daughters apple air pods were left and the hotel have failed to return them to us even though we sent a postage paid addressed envelop for their return over 2 months ago and when we initially phoned they confirmed house keeping had handed them into the office. They now will not respond to my emails or Booking.coms attempts to contact them regarding this, so all in all dishonest. I can't find a phone number to call them from oversea's on, the number on the booking only works in USA. Disappointing they have not been returned,
We loved everything about staying at The Blue Swallow! the history of the property, the location on Route 66, spending time in the very interesting town of Tucumcari, and especially talking to the hosts and other travelers! everyone there is happy to be there and there is such a positive, happy vibe to the place!
Cute & comfy hotel. The owner Mike is a super nice guy and very welcoming. He's put a lot of effort in keeping the nostalgic route 66 look. It's the only place in town with a bar (besides restaurants)! 5 Stars, Mike. Thanks for your hospitality!
If you are travelling Route 66, stay in Tucumcari and book this place. Out of the 15 places we stayed at while travelling the ‘mother road’ this was the best. A gem of a motel and the attention to detail with the 1960s vibe was brilliant.
The breakfast was amazing! I loved the packets of lemon juice and honey for the tea (I don't see that in other hotels). Also, the picante sauce was the best I ever had! They have a great selection of breakfast enhancements!
Breakfast was good, though usual fare for a hotel. Location right by I-40 was perfect. Attractive (and from what it looks like new) facilities. Very nice room and bathroom liked like right out of HGTV.
The breakfast of the hotel was very good and the location was a nice and quiet area. I enjoyed the stay, felt like home and the staff was very sweet. Room was clean, everything worked, nothing was broken.
They are mid-renovation but I am happy to see another hotel opening in Tucumcari. It looks promising for when it is completed. Bed was clean, comfortable. Towels were generous & comfy to use.
Clean, comfortable accommodation for our overnight stay in Tucumcari. Attentive staff who were friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants in town to eat at. Highly recommended!
The person at the front desk who checked us in was pleasant and amicable. The hotel is ideally located in Tucumcari on one of the two main roads in Tucumcari.
