Amazing view of Matterhorn from our room balcony, room is cozy and warm. The staff help us upgrade the room so we have more big room and balcony. And our room WiFi can’t use the staff help us to solve it and offer us a drink in lobby, that is so nice. Although location is a bit far from station but you can ask them help you book a free cute taxi to hotel and station. The breakfast is very nice too. Definitely will back again!

Excellent place, rooms with excellent views to the matterhorn. Breakfast is also excellent, everything looks rustic but luxurious. You need to be lucky to arrive during daytime - they have a pickup service from train station. The hotel is quite far from city center.

The location is superb- just above the major lift to Matterhorn Paradise. Not prone to flooding , still close enough to the city. The breakfast was scrumptious and delicious. The decor was classical of the area. Wonderful attention to detail. The three saunas and two pools were amazing.

Gorner Ridge

Built way back in 1898, the Gornergrat railway is still Europe’s highest open-air railway – and the only route up this 3,000-metre high ridge. As the train gradually chugs its way to the summit, you can admire dramatic backdrops of rocky ravines and imperious snow-capped mountains before testing your ski skills on the pistes of Rotenboden.

Mountain scenery with their evergreens, the presence of snow on Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn and of course, the majestic Matterhorn.

Slopes are easy to access via the stunning Gornergrat train which is also great for non skiers and is included on your ski pass. Ski over to Italy for lunch though, much better than in Zermatt. The gluhwein in the Riffleburg restaurant gets the prize for best in resort.. leave time for this at the end of the day to watch the last of the sun behind the Matterhorn then go down on the Gornergrat after the pistes have closed.

Take the Gornergrat Bahn to the top and hike down back to the village. The views at the top are spectacular and the hike down is invigorating.
