Grab a table at the cafe outside the Adlon and just sit for a bit with a drink and a snack - or have a meal; the food is great. Read up on the history and pay attention to the lines of the Cold War era walls in this area. - There's a great photo just inside the Adlon entrance that has the disabled ramp to really help you see where the walls were with relation to the Gate.

So much history regarding Brandenburg Gate.
So much history regarding Brandenburg Gate. Before you go here go to Checkpoint Charlie museum and watch Reagan's "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall" speech in full, made at Brandenburg Gate. Inspiring.

Very impressive.
Very impressive. If you go into the DZ Bank you can see an interesting sculpture. Hotel Adlon brings back memories of Michael Jackson dangling his baby son Blanket out the window. Watch out for cyclists as you walk through the gate as you can wander into their path/trajectory whilst marvelling at the gate!

Friendly and accommodating staff who all spoke at least some English, full sized bathrooms, hotel was clean, great location 15 minute walk from the Brandenburg Gate. I was able to plug my devices into the HDMI port of the TV in the Room. Lots of good restaurants right across the river within 10-15 minute walk. Each day if you choose not to have the room serviced the hotel gives you a drink ticket for two drinks that evening.
Apartment is in a perfect location. Situated only 300 metres from the Brandenburg Gate and Tiergarten, 200 metres from the Holocaust monument and a ten min walk to check point charlie. Apartment was clean and close to restaurants, a pharmacy and supermarket. Great for a short break stay.
The staff is first rate. The location, awesome; just drive straight down the street (no turns) and you end up in center of Berlin and by the Brandenburg Gate. Breakfast was great for 22 Euros per person with kids eating free. I parked on the street for 2 Euros per hour from 9-24 using the EasyPark app, Sundays and holidays being free.
The staff was really nice and accommodating. You can also store your luggage for free after you check out. The location is relatively good. You are within walking distance (about 20 min) from the Brandenburg Gate.
I recently stayed at this hotel, attracted by its prime location in the heart of Berlin, right across from the Canadian embassy and within walking distance of the Brandenburg Gate.
The Good:
The location is undeniably excellent for exploring Berlin. Being so close to major attractions and landmarks is a definite plus. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, offering a peaceful night's sleep.
The location is excellent: 500 meters from Checkpoint Charlie and 1.3 km from the Brandenburg Gate, and 100m from the StadtMitte underground station from where you can link to anywhere in the city. The room or should I say the bedroom living room suite was excellent.
The room was very clean and quiet, the location was great. Check point Charlie was few minutes away. The Brandenburg Gate and Holocoust Memorial 20 minutes walk. One minute from Anhalter train station.
The hotel breakfast was expensive, so we used the kitchen in our apartment to keep breakfast and snack foods.
One reason why the 2-bedroom apartment is so great for families is that is has 2 bathrooms: one with a shower/tub combo, and one with just a shower.
The location of the hotel was good. It is about a 5-minute walk to a Metro stop, and you can get to the Brandenburg Gate area within a half hour. There were some supermarkets and restaurants in the neighborhood as well.
An excellent location with a very friendly and attentive staff. We were a short distance from many of the major sites in Berlin. A short walk (20-30 min) or three subway stops will lead you to the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. The room was quiet and very clean. We enjoyed our stay in Berlin and had a great hotel to retire to. We will definitely book this hotel again upon our return.
Overall this is a very good hotel. The rooms are clean an comfortable. It's in a great location, right next to a u-bahn station and sites like the Brandenburg Gate, the Tiergarten, and the Reichstag are in easy walking distance.
