What a fabulous area. The architecture is unbelievable with amazing use of tiles everywhere. Lovely to see the boats in the water there. VERY atmospheric and a bit of geography re all the areas of Spain thrown in!
Don't plan on having lunch/dinner there. I thought there would be a lot of places to eat nearby but couldn't find any (besides the overpriced ones one the park's entrance). Head to Torre del Oro area, where you'll find amazing Tapas' restaurants.
We particularly enjoyed Plaza de Espana, which is a popular gathering place with fantastic buildings, a free military museum and rowboat rental. There you'll find musicians and dancers doing their thing to entertain the crowds.
It’s amazingly beautiful place! Plan at least 3h to spend there! . This is a magical place: absolutely beautiful and endlessly interesting! Mix of architectural styles and unexpected discoveries! Perfect for children! Go early to avoid the crowds and midday heat! PS did I mention you can rent a rowing boat there! Isn’t it just WOW!?! Just across the road there is the most beautiful park I have ever seen so far! It’s spectacular and it’s a must see. Pleasant stroll in the shade of greens accompanied with happy birds singing. Too lazy to walk - rent a bike for one, for two or for the whole family. Too tired to pedal - there is a horse carriage ready for you! What would be your choice?
We nearly didn't go there, and we would have missed an incredible site and sight. The park attached to it is worth exploring as there are lovely features like a waterfall and some of the other buildings built for the exhibition on 1929
Free area inside the park really pretty well worth a visit watched some free flamenco music and dancing here. only buy souvenirs from stalls as fixed sensible prices,,, lots of illegal street sellers trying to sell same goods overpriced avoid them. carriage rides at fixed prices of 45 euro so ok for 4 people. bike hire also good prices and a nice flat park but quite a few bumpy roads.
