The location was great as it was near the ropeway and the train.

everything was thought on the minimum details, including taking my luggae to my room while I waitied and went for a walk. The staff is absolutely the best ever. The food is fabulous and the accomodation is perfect. the second comunnal floor is so comfortabel! the private and public onsens are a must!!!!!

The hotel is amazing, looks slightly dated, but it is very well maintained, super clean and comfortable. My room was huge and had a gorgeous view. The staff is caring, speaks English and is eager to help. There is a shuttle bus service to/from the Gora station, super convenient. The meals (breakfast, dinner) were delicious (they are not Japanese! it is European-style food) and served in a very elegant way, it was a pleasure just heading to the dining room. Before dinner there was a coctail hour where everyone could make prepare their own drinks from an array of liquor on offer. The hotel's surroundings were peaceful, and the location was an enjoyable walk up/down the hill from Gora's center. A bus stop heading to the Pola Museum is not far away.

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. I arrived without any plans for my stay, but once I asked for recommendations, they went above and beyond to help me plan and discover the area. Their guidance made my trip so much more enjoyable!. Plus, I had the best dinner experience—delicious food and a great atmosphere that perfectly complemented my stay.

This is a beautiful property, with a luxurious, private outdoor hot tub that is fed from the hot spring. During cold months, it feels wonderful to get into the tub and be in nature. The room was very large with traditional tatami flooring and spacious closets to hang your coats and clothes. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. It’s a short walk from nearby coffee shops and the cable car. Beautiful hotel, would definitely stay here again.

My original booking got canceled so I found this one last minute. I was looking for copper and found gold! After a long week of sightseeing this place finally helped me to relax. It was exactly what I expected from traditional Japanese logging: tatami flooring, futon beds, shoji doors - you name it! And of course the staff were very nice.

Huge room with great view. The onsen is also nice. Also it's convenient to have washing and drying machines in the room.

New property on a hill with great views. Property was very quiet & clean. The room itself was amazing. Lots of space for our party of 5. The private bath was a hit but the deck was the best part! The hotel is a short & easy walk to Gora Station. We left a bag & the hotel staff promptly mailed it back to our house. I would definitely stay here again!

We found Hotel Hakone Kaika via a suggestion by booking and changed to it sort of last minute. It was the best decision we made this trip. The hotel is very new and spotless clean. The staff are super friendly! Coming from Tokyo we really felt the difference and their hospitality was heartwarming. The breakfast is traditional Japanese. If you love Japanese food you’ll love it as it’s well thought out. If you’re more into Western breakfast, there are convenience stores around to sort yourself out or you can go to cafes. They provide mineral water daily and you get a selection of drinks as a welcome which were amazing. There is a selection of teas in the room which were also quite nice. The private room onsen was amazing! It’s real mineral spring water. Beware there is a sulfur tinge to it (which is because it’s natural). It didn’t bother us at all as you can close the window and they provide natural oils if you like to use, but if you have a respiratory condition make sure this is ok for you. On arrival, we made matcha tea together with a staff as our guide then headed to the tea terrace (you can book this activity in advance too, we just were able to do it right away as it was available when we arrived) and it was the best welcome for sure.

It was the perfect night! The room was huge and so beautiful, the dinner was just amazing the staff were so friendly and nice and the private onsen was the cherry on top. Loved every second!!!

The location of the hotel is quite good, it can be reached by direct bus (not included in the Hakone Free Pass) from Odawara, which saves you the trouble of changing trains in crowded Hakone. From the bus stop, the road goes down to this place so you can even walk it with wheeled luggage. The place can also be reached by taking the mountain cable car up, when you get out at Kami-Gora (make sure you get out at the left side, you can't cross the tracks later). The room is spacious and has a good view. I was alone in the room so I used all four tatami mats and slept really well. The private onsen is nice.

The property is beautiful, the room with the onsen is very nice except for the 2 single beds (we were couple). The traditional chef dinner was very good and the sitting in private room was nice. The stuff was very nice and professional.
