It was my first stay at Tokyo Station Hotel and it certainly won’t be the last. I loved every corner of the hotel and felt its history at every turn. The staff members went above and beyond to cater to our every need, you can feel the pride they take in their job with their small gestures, their enthusiastic words of welcome they chant to every guest that walks by, their graceful movements across the breakfast buffet tables that almost looked like a dance. It was my first trip overseas after Covid and they made me feel safe, everyone was wearing a mask and a disinfectant spray was adorably decorated and placed across the ailes of the hotel. The location was the reason I chose the hotel in the first place with the access to the JR and subway lines just few steps away from the hotel’s exit. The breakfast was nothing like I’ve seen before, with bite size portions carefully placed in crystal containers and covered with a delicate layer of plastic. I loved the salads and the desert options the most, they were a work of art and I just had to take a picture of my tray every morning. The toiletries matched the number of guests and were replaced daily, a relaxing rain shower, the fluffiest slippers and victorian-esque pajamas added to our cupboard whenever our room is made up. I felt welcomed by everyone in the hotel even the other guests, my love for Japan increases with every visit to this country and this was one of the experiences that made me cherish it even more.

room is big with all muji amenities (like you stay in muji store), the location very strategic in ginza near with JR (yurakocho) and subway (ginza), we did not charged for child (i booked deluxe room for 2 adult because i could not find room if i included my kids)

    The Western Gardens outside of the Imperial Palace are open...

    The Western Gardens outside of the Imperial Palace are open daily but the Eastern Gate garden are only open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday NOT open Monday or Fridays. Best to do the Eastern gate gardens as outside nothing really to see only the trees and the car park .

    IMPORTANT! You CANNOT go inside the Imperial Palace.

    IMPORTANT! You CANNOT go inside the Imperial Palace. From what I understand, there are only 2 days of the year you can actually go inside - you pretty much walk around the outside of it and take photos. Still beautiful and a good walk but we misunderstood and thought we could go inside with a tour guide. Please learn from out mistake :) still recommend going if thats your thing!

    Free English tours twice a day. You can book ahead to guarantee a spot. In our case, it was sold out in the morning, but in the afternoon, there were many spots left that people were able to get in person.

    a very important tip

    a very important tip Check before you go that the palace gardens are in fact open to the public on the day you intend to go, because like so many other places worth visiting, they do not advertise the CLOSURES, as clearly as one would sometime hope

    Great, very relaxing walking about the gardens. If you want to guarantee a chance on the tour show up 2hrs before the start (9:30 or 13:30). They only allow 140 people in per day. If you want walk around and enjoy the gardens try get there before 9am, it gets quite crowded after 10.
