The view from the room balcony was beautiful. Facilities were newly built and very clean. Private hot spring bath was big and comfy. Owners were very nice making us feel very welcomed.

It was beyond my expectation. The Kiseki dinner was so delicious. Their steamed rice was so good and perfectly cooked. The room had sepreated part and had plenty of space with message chair,unbelivable . The old woman at the reception can't speak English but she try so hard to explain us in Japanese, very nice. The location was perfect, located near Kinrin lake and Yufuin Floral village. Definitely come back if possible

    The host is super friendly and the place is very nice and neat. It’s so nice that they responded us immediately for arranging the pick up time at JR Yufuin station. However, it would be easier using google translate when communicating with the host.

    Excellent host! Has an onsen inside too, free! Far from the main shopping area, but they offer pickup at 6pm from the main Yufuin Station (which I didn't know, I walked so far, but it's ok, exercised!) Also offers breakfast for $5! Other than that, everything is great! Host has been hosting for 18 years now with his wife! So you also have a native host! When you leave, they sing you a country song, how unique!!

    Beverages in room was free of charge. 3 perrier btls, 6 cans of beer/Chu-hi and 5 cans of juices. own private onsen in garden was a bliss. rm was big enough for 4 pax ( 2 beds and 2 futons) . loved the fusion food served for dinner and breakfast. had pick up and send off to Yufuin station

    We spent 2 nights here. Staying at Garakuchin completes Japanese old style house living desire. -Wonderful private Onsen is available. Two types to choose. -Staff is very helpful and his english is very good. He offered us the service to drive to train station. That really helps saving our time and energy! -Room is clean and comfortable -Nice weather with great adventure while walking ~1 km from Yufuin station to the hotel.

    The dinning room is quite and has good view, and dinner and breakfast were very delicious. the ryokan owner was kind and gave support when we requested. Last day he gave extra service to send us to Yufuin station. it was enjoyable stay at Takeya.
