If you are interested in art this is a must do. A very impressive and modern museum with wonderful pictures with audio so that you can hear about each painting. Visit will last a good 2 hours and outside there is a lovely walk through the park.
My second visit. It is a wonderful museum and fabulous to see all these paintings that are preserved and in one place. Very crowded and that makes it harder to go through at your leisure. Free with I Amsterdam card, but you must reserve a time slot in advance. Do this asap. I would suggest to go first thing in the morning to get through before it gets too crowded.
If you're a fan of Van Gogh this is a must to visit. Not all of his famous works are there, but so many are, and also his personal letters and effects. It is well laid out, with a cafe and gift shop. You must book a time to visit in advance. We did this online at home months before we visited.
We had reserved tix a month in advance for this museum and it was to be the highlight of our trip. The night before we got an email stating that our tix were were cancelled due to the museum being closed to public for a private party to celebrate soccer team. The tix were refunded but no other option was provided for us to tour museum at another time during our short stay. We were told to go online to check to see if there were cancellations. This was exceedingly disappointing and very bad business practice.
Spent about two hours here, lots of information about His life and and the impact of Him on Art today and throughout that ages. Touching and meaningful exhibits - Left feeling enthralled and sad at Van Gogh’s short life experiences! Very well deciphered. A must see for art enthusiasts.
Not impressed with headphones Wernt charged and wasnt given adequate guidance on how/when to use them. (I am sight impaired) and found out only permanent exhibits had numbers) Enjoyed exhibits but sad i couldnt discover more about them)
Excellent location - Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum only 10 minutes on foot, Albert Cuypstraat market and Heineken brewery within 5. Tram and metro stops to railway stations and other sights (royal palace, flower market) nearby, also grocery stores and a wide selection of restaurants. Although its window goes to the inner stairway, the room had enough natural light and was well ventilated. Bathroom is clean and cozy. Friendly staff.
The location is just 3 minutes away from Van Gogh museum, so super central! The room was small but has everything you need (even a nespresso coffee machine with very good coffee). Everyday there's room cleaning and they change towels daily! The bed was really comfy and the bathroom had a huge shower! Loved it! The wifi was excellent! They even let us check in earlier than the check in time, we really appreciated it!
Location was good.30 min walk from the central station and less than 20 mins walk to Van Gogh museum. Our room had a nice view facing the a bridge.Room had a nice temperature and we received a welcome chocolate. The room size also exceeded my expectations. There were 2 armchairs. The bed is quite comfortable. There are many shops and cafes nearby.Supermaket is 3-4 mins walk.

Nicely decorated, great staff, good breakfast, nice bathtub with jacuzzi effect, great location next to Van Gogh Museum and other museums, fancy neighbourhood and close enough to the centre as well.
Location is quite nice, near Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. The art decoration in hotel is also nice. Some good restaurants nearby. Bus station is also within walking distance.
Rijksmuseum is one of the most important art museums in the world. You can't miss it. You also have the Van Gogh Museum and the Anne Frank house, which is a great experience.
Van Gogh Museum doesn't take that long about 1 -2 hrs max. No queue at 12.15pm
I liked the Van Gogh museum and the Anne Frank House. They are a must go!!!
A cruise by the cannals, a visit to the Van Gogh Museum or going to the many festivals that the city can provide.
The Van Gogh Museum is small enough to get around in one day or the Rijksmuseum for a wider variety of subjects.
Observing the coordination of bikes, cycles, cars, buses, trams, pedestrians...it was all so interesting. The ride on the canal was beautiful...the structure of the city and how it all comes together. The visit to the Van Gogh museum to see the work of one of my favorite artists.
