Don't miss this, even if it means going out of your way. The museums tell the story of NZ and its people in an even handed and self critical way that makes one think .. We ran out of time visiting everywhere else, but definitely on the next holiday list. Thank you to the local guides that stopped and had a chat with us about the history. Checkout the Waitangi treaty grounds website for more details!
