Boulder City Dam Inn and the town are gorgeous and nice stay. Quality Inn looks nice too on bluff near Lake. Temple Bar Resort has VERY basic cabins with kitchen right on the lake beach in a great location, for young backpackers or RV families. Small room with stiff mattress = not my best night sleep. But the Boulder Dam museum within the hotel is interesting and worth your time. But for a restful night on a cross-country drive I was glad to discover Boulder City. No neon, no noise and no casinos. It’s near beautiful Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. The hotel’s restaurant was good for a decent light supper and a glass of excellent local craft beer, and there are a couple of other food options within an easy walk. Nevertheless, we had a good stay. The service and food in the restaurant were quite good. From the hotel it is an easy to walk to an abandoned rail line with some tunnels along Lake Mead.
