Didn't really visit it but we were in Oakland only for the night to catch an early morning flight and the hotel, which provided an early morning shuttle to airport, was near some body of water. But have visited the lake in the past and this is one of Oakland's better attractions. Frankly, the hotel was HORRID! People are friendly and nice except for the BBQ Betty's and Karen's. You can find everything you want at the lake.
