The Old Vets House was really great, we were a little apprehensive when we booked the property due to its proximity to the main market place, we thought that it might be too noisy, however it was not a problem at all. Actually, it’s central location is a benefit. The property is also a bit of a Tardis and very well maintained. Spotlessly clean throughout and equipped with all that you need. The Hot tub was a perfect place to dodge the heat and the huge sash windows were perfect too . Ewelina was a delight to communicate with and our stay was really enjoyable.

Rowan Cottage was a superbly well apportioned "headquarters" for my week of traveling around the eastern Dales. I absolutely loved my time here, and was a little sad when I had to leave. I used it as a base for some touristy January forays I was making into Ripon, Fountains Abbey, and other places in the area, and it was so pleasant to have such a warm, clean, cozy cottage to come back to in the evenings. I made good use of the washing machine, and I'm afraid I devoured all the tasty treats the owners left me as a little welcoming surprise. I'm coming back to Yorkshire in June/July, and I will definitely be booking Rowan Cottage again if it's available. It's such a comfortable "home from home", and I can definitely see why it's so highly rated.

Claudia is a fantastic hostess. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was a bother. Claudia made us a packed breakfast so we could attend an early event the next day. Above and beyond and such a charming personality. Lovely roll top bath. The dog was made to feel very welcome too. Highly recommend staying here. Pub opened the night before we arrived and was a good place to eat. Fabulous stay.
