We've arrived in Zanzibella with a normal expectations like every other hotel. But the experience has left us speechless & spoiled and now we are going to compare every other hotel/resort with Zanzibella for sure. Right from the beginning the staff was genuinely friendly, kind and welcoming. The management (Isabella, Elizabeth and the team) were on their toes to make every guests feel comfortable, with short talks over breakfast and requesting feedbacks, which was unique! The resort is right next to the beach and has been built taking nature in consideration. We were woken up with beautiful chirping of the birds right next to our window. The room was huge, balcony had sun-beds for relaxing, the washroom was again huge, toilets were separate in the room. In short, the room had a mix vibe of local culture and European modern touch. The sun beds on the beach side were cozy, had charging points, I mean this is attention to detail. You can walk around the resort and never feel bored! The swimming pool has 120-170 meters variable depth, with pool bar, and is even heated so we were able to swim till late. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Kudos to the Chef, what an amazing talent, all local cuisine were made fresh and tasted at different level. Plus, during our stay, the resort arranged buffet and it was endless tasty food with lot of variety at that price point. On top of that, the performance by different dance groups, music bands every day, which made us feel not to go out, but to remain in the resort and have our own joyful time. For the beach, it was sea-weed season, but free-taxis were arranged everyday so that we can enjoy our own beach day. And when we returned in the evening, tired & tanned, we'd have our room prepared with mosquito nets (though we never found one) and those cozy bed lamps, with bed made-up, even though we haven't asked for. Zanzibella was special at every level & we'll be back again for sure!

The Hello Capitano restaurant had nice seating arrangements, with nice views of the beach. The sea facing room we got had a nice cushioned area where you could lie down and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the waves, which was extremely relaxing in the morning.

Minha experiência no Hostel 197 em Zanzibar foi incrível. Os quartos são excelentes - amplos, limpos e muito confortáveis. Fiquei em um dormitório compartilhado que tinha uma estrutura de hotel: camas de casal, cada uma com cortina, luz individual, amenities (como shampoo e sabonete), ar-condicionado e roupa de cama de boa qualidade. De fato é um nível de conforto que raramente se encontra em hostels. Viajei sozinha como mulher e me senti totalmente segura, tanto no dormitório quanto nas áreas comuns. O ambiente do hostel é exatamente o que combina com Zanzibar: tranquilo, acolhedor e com uma vibe super chill. A piscina é maravilhosa, o bar serve ótimos drinks, e sempre tem uma música ambiente agradável! O café da manhã também foi um destaque - muitas frutas frescas, café muito bom e ótimas opções de pratos. O staff é excepcional: educado, prestativo e sempre pronto para ajudar. Fiz um dos tours oferecidos pelo próprio hostel e foi ótimo. Além disso, conheci pessoas de vários lugares, o que deixou minha estadia ainda mais especial. O Hostel 197 foi um dos grandes highlights da minha experiência em Nungwi. Recomendo demais! É o lugar perfeito para quem busca conforto, segurança, boa energia e excelente atendimento.

This resort sits in one of the most breathtaking and tranquil corners of Nungwi a place that feels made for a honeymoon. Honestly, you won’t find a better beach anywhere in Zanzibar. We explored Paje, Mtende, Kizimkazi, Kendwa and even the famous Nakupenda sandbank, and while each had its charm, nothing compared to the beauty right outside our resort. Our stretch of beach felt like our own private paradise, complete with its own natural sandbank and not a single crowd in sight. It was perfect. The staff and Maasai security around the hotel make the difference in your stay. This is a place we want our family and friends to experience over and over again. Our hearts are so full from the amazing experience we got to have for the 8 nights we stayed here. We are just simply blown away. We have managed to come away with some amazing moments and memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. The place is stunning, with the sunrise in the morning making you think, “Why can’t I have this all the time?” That thought just carries on throughout the day whilst having your breakfast as you look across the sea, quietly smiling inside about the experience and feeling. This continues in the afternoon when low tide arrives and the water recedes far from the shore, exposing the seabed and starfish. Our time here was not only enhanced by this experience, it was amplified by the quality of the people we met, and the joy they infused into our days. They were just wonderful.
