Bus routes were a nightmare.
Bus routes were a nightmare. Roads closed and bus stops suspended throughout the island so travel was difficult without a hire car. Can recommend Pier 17 in St Peter Port for eating out. Specialises in fish, not cheap. Sark and Herm were lovely days out.Guest review byGillianUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It’s a great place for families who love beach holidays.
It’s a great place for families who love beach holidays. It’s also great for those interested in history with all the occupation places to visit. There are plenty of good places to eat. We when to Crabby Jacks which has a varied menu. The local kiosks are also great places for a snack. It’s easy to get around either by car or public transport which is very regular. Lots of people came with bikes.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

There were many things to see and do from museums, a castle, great food and spectacular roads. Fresh seafood was amazing. Found a great little gin distillery too. The roads are scary, very narrow and lots of road works. Don't drive there if you are not happy reversing. We struggled to get to some places due to the roadworks everywhere.Guest review byMoiraUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Visit to Castle Cornet a must plus ferries to Sark & Herm.
Visit to Castle Cornet a must plus ferries to Sark & Herm. Both enjoyable for different reasons.Other museums interesting & good value. Local bus service provides good reliable service. Not worth buying day pass for £10 per person unless you are doing 7 journeys or more a day.Guest review byGRAHAMEUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Like the quietness of the Vale, away from the town centre, tucked away at the end of the island. I love the location of the peninsula hotel facing the ocean, the sun rise is amazing in the early hours of the morning all golden really beautiful. Going to the town centre you need a bus , it runs hourly week day and 2hourly week end. Taxis are hard to come bye and expensive, book with the hotel 24rs pre. The food in the hotel is nice but a bit pricey you don't really have much choice no nearby restaurants.Guest review bybassey-williams - 10.0

Ideal for walking and exploring coastal areas, everything you need in one place. Food, drink and local services all within a short walk. Excellent reliable bus services to all areas at an affordable price, use the Guernsey bus app. 30 minute bus ride to St Peter Port, 10 minute direct taxi ride to airport.Guest review byAlan JuddUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A lovely little hotel in a pleasant location on the island.
A lovely little hotel in a pleasant location on the island. The restraunt and bar are brilliant, the staff are attentive and friendly too. The guest WiFi was good, fast and stable. My room was nice, floorboards a little creaky here and there - it's worth noting there is a spiral staircase up to the rooms which may not suit all guests. Somethings are not perfect, the TV in my room was tiny and I never actually managed to make it turn on, there was no plug for the bath - so showers only. It can get very busy there, on one evening when I returned to the hotel it was impossible to park, so I had to go and come back an hour later. The only thing I would say was bad was the traffic noise from outside - this isn't the fault of the hotel as they cannot control this; but be prepared for a mix of people using the lane as a race track late at night, and lorries/tractors early in the morning that are also noisy. (I found it hard to get to sleep before midnight, and was woken every morning before 5am due to this)Guest review byBrettUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Good location to explore island as nice and quiet but attractions nearby. Imperial hotel and Taste of India good for food. Guernsey Pearl and the Himalayan Cafe must be visited for shopping and good food. Beaches very close by - but not close enough to walk if got small people. Honesty boxes nearby for vegetables and fudge! History of WWII and the occupation of the island very interesting to explore - forts, underground hospital and other bunkers.Guest review byMaryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Very old world feeling, I loved the narrow streets and alleyways. Loads of independent shops. Lovely and clean. The views from the Harbour are excellent. The waterfront is easy to navigate with plenty of places to eat and drink.Guest review byNeilfooUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Castel is a good position for trips to any part of Guernsey, particularly the lovely sandy bays all along the North West coastline. Coastal destinations have kiosks for drinks and toilets for comfort. Cobo bay tearooms are a destination for locals and tourists alike, with traditional Guernsey fare and the most amazing home made cakes. A warm summer evening sitting on the beach with Fish and Chips from Cobo chippie, watching the sunset is paradise!Guest review byAnonymous
