- From $166.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.0Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 212 reviewsThe room was clean and had everything we needed. Over night there was heavy snow and we were permitted to stay in the hotel while the roads were clear. This act of kindness meant a great deal for us as there were no other dog friendly places that we could get to with the funds being so bad. The local shop was closed and we had no food so we were given toast to see us through while waiting. Thank you.Guest review byEvaIreland

It's culturally intact- very English. Everyone we met were very friendly and welcoming. Ideal for a complete get away from everyone, walking is amazing if you want it. Winter is very cold up there, though beautiful.Guest review byLancashireUnited Kingdom

Wooler is the perfect base to explore so much of wonderful Northumberland. The Cheviot hills are on your doorstep, literally walking distance and it is very easy to get to the coast, Lindesfarne and many other places just 30 minutes drive away. A small market town with a high street packed with great shops, pubs, takeaways and cafes; we recommend the Terrace cafe for excellent all day breakfasts and great coffee . The town is particularly good for those who like browsing antique and bric a brac shops, there was even an Auction when we were there.Guest review byHeskiaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bardon mill is a gorgeous little village consisting of a cosy Inn, an incredible Victorian pottery and a fabulous village tea room. It’s located close to the upper Tyne river which is a lovely tranquil walk through the train station and across the fields. A secluded spot for watching birds and a gentle walk away from the Wall/Vindolanda etc. it’s is central for all the local Roman attractions. Bardon Mill is accessible by train but also has electric chargers right opposite the Bowes Hotel making ideal as a stop over point.Guest review byBrodie - 10.0

Wark is a small village, people are very friendly, it has a pub, a shop, a coffee shop and a hotel, it is quite rural with plenty of walking opportunities. We travelled by car to Alnwick and visited the castle and the historic town then down the coast road to Amble a lovely seaside town.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Beautiful scenery and so quiet - perfection.
Beautiful scenery and so quiet - perfection. We ate in the hotel and had an excellent meal in the evening. The breakfast menu had a good variety to choose from - the full Scottish breakfast was fantastic and highly recommended. We were visiting relatives so didn’t have time to walk but given more time would explore the hills around. We ventured into nearby Kelso which was a lovely town with a lot to offerGuest review byFiona - 10.0

We loved the area we were in, beautiful scenery, however, the information we were provided with states the local pub/restaurant which was only one mile away was really nice for eating out. There were 2 pubs up the road but they were closed Monday and Tuesday the days of our stay at the cottage, this was disappointing.Guest review byAnonymous
