Caer Rhun Hall is the most astonishing hotel we have ever been. The rooms are very clean, quiet and perfect for a short or longer stay in North Wales. The house is more like a castle than a hotel, the balance between modern comfort in the sleeping rooms and traditionally furnitured guest rooms is outstanding.

Fabulous!!! We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful ancient farmhouse. Robin and his wife were lovely, both so welcoming. The breakfast on both mornings were absolutely delicious, with our evenings spent reading in front of the open fire after two long days of hiking in the beautiful countryside before sleeping in the most comfortable 4 poster bed. We couldn’t recommend this place enough, and plan to go back for another wonderful stay in the new year.

Lovely village and a great base for exploring Snowdonia whether on foot or by car. lots of local eateries, equipment hire and outdoory clothing shops. I've been to the area many times and did a bit of Mountain Biking Locally, Spent a day walking on the Ogwen valley mountains, and finished with a day at the Gardens in Bodnant.

We used to live in nearby Glan Conwy so we know and love the area. There is so much to do. Lots of walking and cycling opportunities in the Conwy valley, by the sea and further afield in Snowdonia. Conwy itself is a lovely village inside the city walls with a variety of shops and places to eat. You can walk most of the city walls but parts are now closed off. You can walk along the coastal path and two beaches, Bae Conwy and Llandudno West End are closeby. Llandudno itself is still a thriving town with a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, but like so many small towns it is feeling the effects of the economic downturn since the turn of the century.

I came to walk locally and to travel on the local steam railways. I know Porthmadog fairly well, and have always enjoyed visits there. It was a little crowded, but not overwhelmingly so, and this was no surprise. Useful to be able to walk into town easily, so the car could be left outside the lodgings, and the wonderful countryside around was readily accessible. I made most use of the cafe/restaurant at Harbour station, but other cafes in the high street were good, and I also used the convenient pubs in Tremadog nearby.

Depending what you're visiting for.

Depending what you're visiting for. In the town centre there are no clothes shops or supermarkets- only cafes, mobile phone shops and charity shops. Nightlife has also gone downhill since COVID, most things closed and now like a ghost town. Can't fault the retail parks up the top end of Bangor, got what you need but again no clothes shops. Some lovely walks around Bangor when the weather is nice. Cleo lounge is a lovely place to eat who also accepts dogs. Pontio is also cheap for cinema viewings.
