We stayed at Mirabelle Luxury Villas for 2 nights in late October and it was absolutely perfect...exceeded our expectations and more! So happy with our stay! The decor and architecture is very thoughtfully and beautifully designed. The attention paid to detail with each property having a Bluetooth speaker that you can play by the pool, TV with signed in Netflix, makeup towels, hairdryer with a diffuser, comfortable bed and so much more makes the stay super comfortable. The private pool is just perfect with a beautiful view of Plaka👌. We barely left the room during our stay and we made most of the pool. The breakfast basket each morning was delicious and filling with local produce...pastries, yogurt, breads, fruit and juice! So yummy and probably the best breakfasts we've had. Vicky was a great host and was really friendly and approachable with anything we needed. We were looked after very well. Can't recommend this property enough!

Naxos Highlights

  • Naxos Castle

This fine example of Venetian architecture was the town’s acropolis, built during the Middle Ages. Locals still live in the mansions surrounding it.
  • Portara

This imposing temple entrance has watched over Naxos Harbour for 2 millennia. The 6th-century monument has become an icon of the island.
  • Agios Georgios Beach

The seemingly endless Agios Georgios Beach is a popular spot for both sun worshippers and windsurfers.
  • Agios Prokopios Beach

Agios Prokopios doesn’t just have crystal-clear waters and golden sands but is also home to unusual, red-coloured lakes.
  • Surfing on Mikri Vigla Beach

This kite and wind surfing hotspot is famed for its golden sands, wild landscape and Cycladic architecture.
  • The village of Apiranthos

Set at a 650-metre altitude, this village is on the slopes of Mount Fanari. Its architecture and layout have remained almost untouched since Venetian times.
  • Filoti Village

One of the island’s most picturesque villages, Filoti is surrounded by valleys and features charming Cycladic architecture.
  • Temple of Demeter

Named after the goddess of agriculture, this striking temple dates from the 6th century BC. Archaeologists resurrected the temple from ruins found in the 1970s.
  • Tower of Agia

This 17th-century tower is a former look-out post which sits on the north coast. It offers a striking Venetian design, which is replicated throughout the island.

Agia Anna was a lovely location, beautiful setting and we loved the fact you could eat dinner on the beach as the restaurants all set up on the beach in the early evening. The place had a cool vibe and felt undiscovered. there were plenty of places to eat and a supermarket to buy essentials. If you are self catering you would want to stop off in the main town before arriving. AB supermarkets had everything.

Mikri Vigla is a quiet town with a couple bakeries and restaurants. Beautiful sunsets and beaches, but you should have a car / moped to get around. The bus from Naxos Chora is infrequent and drops off at the beach, not the town proper.

Stelida is a purpose built hilltop penninsula for accomodation and walking distance to a lovely beach if the north wind is not blowing. This is a special, hidden gem on Naxos, away from all the sunbeds and noise from the busy beaches. The 2 beaches here were absolutely fantastic. You reach the town by bus from the port of Naxos and ride through the mountains to reach this town. It's such a lovely bus ride, but if you easily get car sick, I recommend taking car sick medication before leaving. You get around the tiny town on foot; everything is in one spot. It is difficult to park here, so strongly recommend coming by bus, it's cheap and it runs a few times per day. There is a minimarket, a souvenir shop, and a handful of tavernas and coffee shops right on the beach! Our favorite restaurant by far was Kalimera, true Greek food. One beach is a sandy beach and the other has rocks, not as easy to get in and out but worth the effort. The water is crystal clear.

Quiet beach with three Tavernas withing walking distance plus some smaller food service locations. There is a mini market where you can purchase essentials. It was very windy in June, less so we were told in September. No bus service, we hired a car but if you are prepared to walk up and doen the beach not absolutely essential.

    We enjoyed visiting St.

We enjoyed visiting St. George (Agios Georgios) Beach, which has shallow waters for young children Also, the Temple of Apollo was very nearby and has some amazing views. Our favourite part was taking a walk to the Castle (Kastro) in the Old Town . It's beautiful narrow cobbled streets with quaint shops along the way lead you to the breathtaking views when you reach the top. Remember to take a moment to absorb the views from this height. It's worth every moment. There are also boat trips you can take from the harbour - with day trips to Santorini or Mykonos daily.
