We traveled for 10 days to 5 cities and this was hands down our favorite hotel. Very kind staff, excellent location, absolutely exceptional breakfast and happy hour on the lemon terrace. We were able to rent beach towels to go to the beach and received a souvenir when checking out. I couldn't recommend this place higher!

We had the pleasure of staying 4 nights at Cenobio Dei Dogi and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The ocean front location has the most incredible views of all Camogli. The hotel has a beautiful heated pool and its own private beach with loungers and bar service. The included breakfast was bountiful and offered a wonderful selection. We dined in the restaurant and were thankful for the suggestions made by the waiter. The service is the standout though, the staff is kind, respectful and incredibly attentive, we felt spoiled. Our room was a standard ocean front and had everything we needed. We revelled at the sunsets over Camogli each night. We will definitely return!

    A beautiful, impressive city.

A beautiful, impressive city. For €2, you can take a bus to any beach on the Ligurian coast. Eastern Genoa is well-kept, as is the old town, but unfortunately the western part is not. Frozen seafood from China for 12 euros?!? But the focaccia is fresh, the pastries and ice cream are very good. There are many new immigrants who accost you intrusively.

It is more practical to stay in La Spezia especially if you have luggages to drag along - in CInque Terre, stairs, narrow steps and steep slopes are really challenging to do with baggage. There are wider range of options of food in La Spezia, and considerably cheaper than the ones in Cinque Terre. It is also so convenient to travel from La Spezia to the towns of Cinque Terre.

Rapallo is a lovely town, with great facilities. We used it as a hub to travel by public transport to the places we wanted to visit. We went by ferry to Portofino (or bus, if the weather stops the ferries running) and by train to Genoa, Pisa and Cinque Terre.

Lovely town with many shops, restaurants and plenty to do. The beach and the sea looked very inviting even in winter! Easy to walk around and we found it very easy to visit nearby towns using trains which are reasonably priced and comfortable. Not easy to park near the centre, but there are several car parks for a reasonable hourly rate.

We loved the beach which was directly across the road. We ate at the beach and it was good food. We mostly stayed at the beach most of the day and we appreciated the parking at the hotel. We loved playing in the water and just relaxing at the beach for the day. The hotel was a convenient location and was very clean and the host was very friendly and helpful.

Levanto had the best beach in Cinque Terre by far.

Levanto had the best beach in Cinque Terre by far. We went to all the other Cinque Terre villages (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore), and Levanto had the only sandy beach. It was very clear, the beach as well as the water, not as crowded as the other towns, more space for people and bigger free beaches. Besides that, no other Cinque Terre beach has sand. They either have big rocks or small pebbles, which are difficult to walk on, except for Levanto, where you can confortably walk barefoot. Levanto also has a place from which you can free dive into deep waters (the port), like in Vernazza. I reccommend eating at Aggio&Persa - it has the highest reviews (4.9), very cheap food, they sell per grams, not portion (a portion of lasagna here is 6-7€, while at other places it's 14€), and it has a variety of freshly cooked meals right in front of you - both homey and local.

The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion.

The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or takeways to sit in the harbour and eat plus bars. No cover charges like the other resorts we visited. Great atmosphere. The Cinque Terre is overpriced in general not just for food/drink but also the tourist tax/ train tickets/ walking trails etc. but as long as you know this it is a lovely place so you need to tick the area off your list
