WOW! This hotel has really paid attention to every detail. Very nice ambiance and very welcoming. The common areas are very well thought out and there is space to read/ play billiard/watch Tv and to enjoy the beautiful outdoor view. The room which we booked was a standard room and was very nice but a bit on the smaller side so there was no desk or chair to work. There was a large outdoor balcony and the bathroom was a good size and all was very comfortable. The Spa and upper terrace area was fantastic! Nice pool and sauna and relax area. The breakfast was EXCELLENT. So many choices alla buffet and in addition even had a menu to chose other items made to order. Compliments! Very nice

This is our second time at this amazing hotel. We love everything about it: it’s located close to the main street but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet; the property itself is quite new and kept impeccable; the rooms are spacious, bright, comfortable, and offer gorgeous panoramic views of the local mountains and town. The wellness room is an extra bonus, contributing to complete relaxation after a day’s exploration. The breakfast includes a wide assortment of baked goods, jams, freshly cut fruit, charcuterie and cheeses, yogurts and all kinds of toppings you may wish to add. And they prepare eggs and other small breakfast dishes as you wish them, and will bring you your drink of choice freshly made for you (whatever you feel like that day!). We particularly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and friendliness of the hotel managers and other members of their team, who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and address any questions or requests with a helpful disposition. We can’t recommend this hotel enough and can’t wait to come back!

Top notch. We loved the place. The business is family owned and this showed in the way the accomodation is presented. The family are amazing. The food was so so good and we never left a meal feeling hungry. The chef is an amazing cook, supported by his lovely wife, and his parents. We ate dinner there instead of going down town and it was a 5 course meal that was to die for. I'm a hard marker but these people absolutely nail it. The view from the rooms are stunning and the facilities are great too. I would recommend this place to anyone. The owners keep this place in great order. Everything works! The cleaners are long term staff and really are a part of the family. This shows in their presence and attention to detail/quality.

EVERYTHING was excellent (and I don't say that often). EVERY SINGLE PERSON we encountered was polite, super friendly, personable and accommodating. That is rare. This is a family run hotel for many years and it shows. It was wonderful. The hotel is up on a hill and the views are gorgeous. The food was delicious and we have no issues. It is high on the hill, but we walked it, or took the city bus (we got free passes) or their own shuttle.

    My partner and I both agree that Hotel Tyrol is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Breakfast was amazing every day. The ski locker room was very convenient and only a few steps to the first lift. The spa had a variety of different saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and pools and was never too crowded. The hotel was a great starting point to access the Sella Rhonda loop and one of the largest ski areas we have ever seen. Staff were all very friendly and greeted us by name each day. The restaurant's food and service was exceptional! If you are considering staying at this hotel don't hesitate - book a room now and you won't be disappointed. We were so happy with our experience here - it was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy.

    Excellent location, comfortable rooms with great views. Rooms were made up daily (we didn’t need daily cleaning). The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Especially the gentleman with the glasses who checked us in. I messaged him via WhatsApp asking if we could get a dinner reservation for my family of 11 people and he said “of course, no problem.” They informed us of where we could rent skis (with a discount), gave us bus passes, and told us we could use the wellness spa/pool (a short walk from the hotel) for free.

    Wonderful site right above Val de Gardena with view all along the valley. Well kept grounds with outdoors lovely pool connected to the interior one. The room on the third floor was new and comfortable with the same beautiful view. We had breakfast and dinner which were very good. The staff was very good, especially young Melanie and Patrick (owners family) who are super nice, helpful and friendly. In front of the hotel there are efficient buses for visiting the area.

    מלון מושלם!! We had the best week in this hotel, we stayed with 2 small children and they did not want to leave. The surrounding is breathtaking- super close to many attractions. The room was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Outside there is a lot of space for the kids to run and play, they loved the chickens and the rabbits and the outdoor hot tub was a hit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would love to come back someday!

    The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites. Hotels and Apartments are plentiful and in every price level. You can choose from so many hikes (all different levels) you can fill 3 weeks. Depending what other locations are on your itinerary, 3 days allow you to see the highlights and get a sense of the beauty of the Dolomites. Yet, it's easy to fill a week. Summer like winter.

    Because of the two gondolas accessible in town, we were able to explore both sides and experience a variety of terrain, none extremely challenging which worked for our various fitness levels. The views are stupendous and the convenience of the huts along the trails for lunch, a drink or even a break from the rain were fantastic. We didn't need to worry about packing snacks or lunches, and instead enjoyed reasonably priced, delicious meals along our hikes.

    We really enjoyed our stay in this holiday house! Great location – very close to the cable cars that take you to Seceda and Monte Pana in the beautiful Dolomites. The area is peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were very kind, welcomed us with gifts, and gave us great tips on what to see and do nearby. The house had everything we needed: brand-new beds, super comfortable mattresses, and the host kindly provided lower pillows upon request. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We stayed on the ground floor – although the weather was rainy, it was always warm inside thanks to the heating. A perfect place for both active holidays and peaceful rest – highly recommended!

    While Selva absolutely lived up to everything we had heard...

    While Selva absolutely lived up to everything we had heard about how spectacular the Dolomites are, we unfortunately had no fresh snow. We'd made a very long trip from Australia to ski and snowboard, so it was disappointing. That said, we had decent cover and loved the long runs and apres venues. Completing the Sellaronda is one of the best experiences I've ever had on skis.

    A lovely town in the valley with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants but also gave easy access up into the mountains via cable car/funicular. Also easy to get the bus to St Christina and Selva for other cables cars and walks. The Val Gardena mountains are simply stunning with plenty of great walking accessible from Ortesei

It's smaller and quieter than nearby Ortisei or Selva, which made it feel more authentic and relaxing, but it still offers everything you need — cozy cafes, excellent restaurants, and beautiful walking paths right from the center.

    if you are a beginner intermediate you could spend a week on the Sella Ronda - if you are advanced you would get bored after 3-4 days Nothing very challenging for the real adrenaline junkies Selva is a pretty town with lots of hotels and few chalets. Quiet in the evenings.

    There is something for everyone in Ortesei and it is a special family destination as well. We loved the summer climate, the cool crisp air, and the beauty of the amazing Dolomites. The restaurants were great, there was ample shopping, and the locals were warm, friendly and helpful. We did not have a car, but did not need one with the free bus system that was very efficient. The gondolas, funicular annd chair lifts took us to some great spots for hiking and the ambience in the Refugios was great!

    Traditional Village that is set back from the main route so...

    Traditional Village that is set back from the main route so there is far less traffic than Selva. Still have quick access to the Sella Ronda from the main gondola Can be a little bit confusing navigating the pistes at first as they aren't all numbered clearly but it's quick to figure out. If you end up in Selva then there is a bus back but easier to take the gondola up and take the red down.
