The hotel is set high on a hill overlooking Enoshima Island and Mt. Fuji. The view is, simply, stunning. The village is a quiet little seaside town, which suited us perfectly. The electric train runs along the coast, linking the little towns to Kamakura. The hotel has is a swimming pool (closed when we were there), a golf driving range next door, and a lot of sea activities, such a surfing and small boat/board sailing. It would be a great spot for a few days of R&R from whirlwind touring. The hotel offers a free bus service to and from the local station, but you can walk to anywhere in the village, where there is a (limited) range of restaurants - the food we tried was excellent. The hotel also serves meals. Our room was large and comfortable, with a good amount of clothes storage, a full-size closet, a desk/make-up space and good mirror, a coffee table and chairs, and a small balcony. The bathroom is also large, with a generous sized bathtub. Everything was sparkling clean. Reception and other staff were friendly and very welcoming; communication was easy as many spoke good English. If you decide to stay, book a landmark view room on the 4th floor. Well worth the extra price. But, be warned Fuji-san is not always in view, we had a lot of sea mist on our visit so you may only get half the view you’ve paid for.

Great location three minutes from the station. Lots of food around. A lovely village atmosphere, nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of touristy areas, yet just a short train ride from them. Also a stop for the trams (toden) which were quite delightful to see. Much love to the loft design too, which was great for hanging out after a day of exploring. Might be a little tight though if you are tall or well-built. Had a great walking tour around Otsuka with one of the OMO guides too.

Oh almost everything. For s reasonable price we got room with a private bath in the room, outstsnding breakfast and dinner, open bar with soft and alcoholic drinks, access to onsen and one time access to private marble bath. The experience of the traditional ryokan was amazing. The staff was super nice and welcoming. Staying in such a historical object was also a pleasure. And we loved Tonosawa area with beautiful nature and good transport.

Delightful hotel with nice views, excellent breakfast and hospitable staff. The views from mount Komagatake, accessible via a nearby ropeway, are impressive, especially if the clouds clear for long enough to see Fuji. The hotel room was bigger than my old apartment, and is probably the most luxurious room I've ever slept in. I can recommend hiking back to Odawara once your stay is over. It's a comfortable 16 kilometers trek.

Very good location, the staff was friendly. The room was perfectly equipped. The room was as small as we thought but it was perfect for a night with 2 big suitcases and it would have been perfect for more nights too (for 2 persons) The spa was also great. I loved Ueno Park with museums and zoo.

I loved Ueno Park with museums and zoo. It was a relaxing day after Ginza shopping. Loved Shinjuku and seeing Godzilla hotel, famous Cat billboard, yakitori stands, general upbeat vibe. Thought Disney Tokyo Sea was beautiful but tricky to navigate. Enjoyed free tour by volunteers (there are two different organizations that offer) prearranged after arrival to get bearings and take in major sights. Loved Tokyo hotels and their pjs and high-end toiletries (Iconic Royal Park and Dai-Ichi). The egg salad sammie at 7-11 is as good as they say. Great food at Ginza Lion Beer hall--at e there twice and would have gone again for bfast if open. McD's has delish macaroons!

The open air museum is simply a heavyweight coming out of the left field. I didn't expect to find that level and quantity of art in a small village in the Japanese alps, no matter how famous a tourist location it is. It is also extremely easy to get there by bus from most villages in the area. The lake, the Kuzuryū shrine Hongū is more than worth a visit and the water torii is simply iconic. If you are into hiking (I am) there are numerous mountain trails in the close vicinity, but beware: climbing on mount Hakone proper is illegal and dangerous as it is an active volcano and toxic exalations can at times be present. Stick to the observation deck and ropeway if you really want to see Mt. Fuji from a vantage point, or just climb one of the surrounding peaks.

The trip was for Disney so we didnt go to other places really. We ate at Red Lobster, I was disappointed because they didnt have Crab Legs! They had a weak shrimp cocktail with uncleaned shrimp and i had to ask them to remove the shrimp shell. We went to a mall and that was ok, tho getting from ground level to the main floor we had to carry our wagon up stairs, there was no escalator from street to first floor, a minor setback. Navigating to the mall calls for walking through a few buildings zig zagging, again a small setback. oh yea and its cold. Overall the trip was a 8/10 next time if we get a slightly bigger hotell it will be 9/10!

Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration 2025 was held there this year, I had to come and visit. The city is only about an hour away from Tokyo and going there from Chiba was easy to do. Locally speaking, Chiba offers many different places to eat (some of the best donuts I've ever had came from a donut shop called Uni Donuts close to the hotel I stayed at) and a cool Anime hobby store.

Kamakura essentially is a part of the loop between Ofuna and Enoshima. People who come to Kamakura either do so for the shrines/temples OR to stay as a starting point to go to Enoshima. We were the latter. Kamakura gives an impression of a slow paced lifestyle with many interesting and unique shops selling a great variety of things. Kamakura itself has a shopping street which can be quite touristy. Otherwise, it's actually a bustling down with people always on the move. Enoden is definitely a must-take ride. Followed by Shonan Monorail which is an "inverted" track type of monorail. Enoshima by itself can be an entire day trip of shopping, visiting shrines and special locations but require quite a bit of leg strength and stamina. Recommend going for Escar for people who can't climb well. Iwaya Caves is good, but the trip back can be challenging. Enoshima Sea Candle is a must; though at times, the outdoor observatory can be closed and the indoor observatory doesn't have any seats - making the visit very short-lived quickly. Best if you arrange a boat ride out via a route near Iwaya Caves. The shopping streets on the mainland is just as interesting with a lot of unique items and food choices. (that's the street between Enoshima causeway and Enoshima Enoden station)
