- From $56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 624 reviewsThis was by far the cleanest and most functional accommodation we stayed in across our NZ road trip. With a playground, a pool, a really decent kitchen and separate rooms in our cabin (allowing us to set our 18mo toddler down to sleep but stay up chatting in an adjacent room, something we hadn't been able to do in our other locations due to them all being one big space... something we really valued to debrief about our day), this made a great base of operations for our stay in Hastings and actually would have been perfect for a prolonged stay. We walked in and immediately wished this was one of our longer stops, but alas it was just one night!Guest review byShaylaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 46 reviewsThe Craggy Range Luxury Vineyard Retreat was Exceptional ..our flight from USA was cancelled, our baggage lost and the lady of the reception done everything to help us and offer us a welcome drink at the restaurant. The view was amazing , the breakfast was so healthy with fresh produce, excellent coffee .. all amenities that you could imagine. Room was so comfortable , clean and quiet .. Top of the top.. lovely terrace. We strongly suggest to have lunch or dinner at their restaurant. We could not expect more and will come backGuest review byANTOINEUnited States

Secure. Near grocery store and downtown. Highly recommend.Guest review byShariUnited States

Chasing views all over Hawke’s Bay 🌿✨
Chasing views all over Hawke’s Bay 🌿✨ From sunrise vibes at Bluff Hill 🌅 and seaside strolls at Marine Parade 🌊, to the climbs of Sugar Loaf Hill & Te Mata Peak ⛰️. Epic cliff views at Cape Kidnappers and the serene Maraetotara Falls 💦Guest review bySarahNew Zealand - 10.0
The shopping area was convenient.
The shopping area was convenient. I liked how the Warehouse and other shops were close by and a nice cafe/bakery was amongst it. Found it easy to get from one area to another with our GPS. Trying out Popeyes fast food was a interesting experience. Too spicy but then two of us were old codgers!!Guest review byCarolynNew Zealand - 10.0
So much to do here and everything is close.
So much to do here and everything is close. Vineyards, restaurants/cafes are very good, Te Mata Peak is great for a short/long walk, The Market on Sunday was lovely and the shops are individually owned so lots of interesting things. Wardini Books is worth a visit. Andreas Hair and beauty was welcoming at short notice. Loved Havelock NorthGuest review byCatherineNew Zealand - 10.0
Wairoa is totally underrated.
Wairoa is totally underrated. I know it's got a reputation for gangs and gang fights over the years but it took me by surprise for the following reasons: 1. The river walk was one of the most serene and best river walks I've had around NZ towns... and I've practically been everywhere in NZ. 2. The Norfolk Pine along the river were some of the most mature and magnificent trees I've seen. They definitely rival the ones along the Napier-Hastings motorway. 3. The road to the beach was literally 5 mins away from our accommodation. You get a fantastic view of the South Pacific Ocean and over the mountain range westward, you can watch some fantastic sunsets. I spent my 2022 New Years here and I saw off 2021 with a fantastic orange/yellow sunset (the kind you see in Bali).Guest review byHtutNew Zealand - 8.0

Waipukurau is one one of those people tend to just drive through - but it has a great network of trails along the river, nice coffee and is close to Waipawa. Its a relaxing place with nice pastoral scenery.Guest review bySean AudainNew Zealand - 10.0

This is a great place for a quiet, relaxing stay, with access to nearby beach walks and walking trails in the Ta Mata National Park. Don't come if you want night life or nearby restaurants. You're in the countryside, and the nearest town (Napier) is a bout 15km away..Guest review byAndrewAustralia - 10.0

The views are awesome, the hosts gave space which we appreciate however were super friendly and helpful! There was wine, chocolates and homemade bread provided which was really nice of them. We will definitely be back.Guest review byTerryNew Zealand - 10.0
Te Awanga was our choice of location as we were interested...
Te Awanga was our choice of location as we were interested in Cape Kidnappers, the wineries and accomodation with a bay view. We stayed at the Winemakers Cottage and it was exceptional. Te Awanga has a great cafe Huegge right on the beach. Gannet Tours operate from here (but there are no gannets in winter!) Trips up to the Cape Kidnappers Golf Course are not eay to arrange and I think the price if you get there may be exclusive. You can walk around the base of Kidnappers Bay to the gannet colony. It is a bit risky as the cliffs have rockfalls and the beach is made of black rocks which make walking a bit tricky. Great access to Hastings, Napier, Havelock north and Ocean Beach. Craggy Range Winery, Elephant Hill, and Clearview are all easily accessible.Guest review byGreyroseAustralia - 10.0
We enjoyed the quiet location.
We enjoyed the quiet location. The home was comfortable and clean. Everything was as advertised, so no unexpected surprises. The facilities were perfect for us. The directions on how to find the property were spot on. We will visit again soon.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

My husband was born there and we have visited before during Art Deco week . Didn’t stay at the masonic then but ate there . That was fabulous . Stayed this time at the masonic. Disappointed by the empty shops nearby . Prehaps like any coastal town , a bit disappointing in the winter. The art deco centre across the road had moved. Didn’t find that , had planned to buy souvenirs there but came away empty handed. Farmers market was disappointing .Guest review byAnonymousUnited States
