Gorgeous spa hotel in the Dao wine region. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with a natural, Zen-like decor and ambiance. Spa facilities are very nice and welcoming there are many services offered. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights. Elevated Portuguese cuisine well prepared and served. Excellent wine list and the servers are able to suggest the perfect pairing for your meal. Nelas is a small quiet town about an hour’s drive to the Serra da Estrela. Perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy nature. Lovely staff.

The location - literally minutes walk from town but on a island surrounded by park, so it's dead silent and you look out to trees and river. It's the ideal spot for a hotel! Staff were friendly and helpful too and Tomar itself is a lovely town, enough to see and explore but not overrun by tourists.

    This hotel was recommended to us by Portuguese friends who were delighted. At first it seemed like an ordinary hotel. But then we were able to appreciate all the advantages in detail, for example, the interior design and its convenience. The room was very large and comfortable. Everything is new. Carefully thought-out lighting and furniture. A comfortable bed, shower, clothes hanger and everything else! A wonderful view of the pool from a comfortable balcony. The hotel has many different room categories and buildings. If this is important to you, find out about the room and the view from the window in advance. There are several swimming pools, including a fun pool with music and a DJ, aqua aerobics and a bar where you can sit while in the water. Payment for food and drinks will be written on the card from the room. You can pay upon check-out. There is also a quiet pool and children's pools with slides. Pools, both outdoor and indoor. Many comfortable sun loungers. Some of them are in the water. There are beautiful sun umbrellas. Comfortable and beautiful beach towels. There are many guests, but there is enough space for everyone, the guests do not interfere with each other, but on the contrary, create a pleasant atmosphere. The hotel restaurant must be booked in advance, they cook delicious food there, and the restaurant is popular. We booked the restaurant immediately after booking a room at the hotel in messages on booking.com and did not regret it. But if there are no seats in the restaurant, then the bar in the lobby is suitable for a snack. There is also room service. There are several underground garages. The garage was convenient and new. Parking for guests is free. After dinner, I recommend walking around the area around the pools and taking photos.     What a beautiful hotel! The design is dreamy, and you can feel that every little detail was carefully thought of. We loved the design of both the room and the shared spaces, and the pool is absolutely stunning. The food at every meal was delicious (we especially loved the breakfast – wow!!!). And the staff – simply wonderful. They constantly went above and beyond to help with everything, always with a smile and so much patience for our kids. We will definitely come back. A truly magical place.

    The location was perfect for us. Breakfast was worth the price. Had a restaurant if you needed a hot meal on the premises. Close to an Aldi as well as a coin laundromat. We walked to all the places we visited like Aljustrel and places where the children of Fatima lived.

    It is a nice city, but lots of construction and we were there during Burning of the Ribbons, and the parade so the University Library was closed. We saw the gardens, which were ok. I thought it was fun to see the parade and all of the students celebrating, but my husband said he could have skipped Coimbra. We stayed on the main street, Rua Ferreira Borges, up the hill, (near town hall), but our friends stayed in a place that was parallel to the river, R. da Alegria. They said it was not a pleasant walk to their place as it smelled like urine.

    We loved Aveiro.

    We loved Aveiro. We spent 3 days and it was the perfect amount of time to see everything. We would recommend the tuk tuk rides. We had a super college student guide and he was fantastic with our 10 year olds. We loved all the little restaurants, very high quality food, fantastic atmosphere.

    The old town of Nazaré, located at the top of the hill (Sitio), is beautiful and worth seeing, offering a stunning view of the town. Both the main beach and the north beach in Nazaré are beautiful. However, Nazaré itself is quite simple, and its promenade is very touristy, similar to Ballermann in Mallorca.

    The area is nice.

    The area is nice. However the beaches in the area is NOT for little kids. Too wavy and rough. Possible that on a calm day the beaches south of Peniche facing the southwest could be calmer but on the day we went they were all rough. We went to a beach to Praia da Foz do Arelho about 20-25 mins away that was sheltered from the ocean and the kids had a blast. At night there was a festival but otherwise the town was sort of quite despite being middle of July and supposedly "high tourist season".

    This town seemed more “authentic” than some more touristy places, but still had all the easy to access amenities. I enjoyed just walking around, taking pictures of interesting tile work and finding other exceptionally narrow houses.

    Viseu is a gorgeous little city with rich historical tales, medieval buildings, cute cafes, and lush gardens. I really loved this city and became impressed with how clean and safe it felt, as a young woman. I really want to visit this city again. Can’t say that for most of the cities in Portugal but Viseu was just so charming.

    A wonderful town to visit!

    A wonderful town to visit! Lots of shops with unique gifts, beautiful church, a castle, incredible musicians making the most of the open space and acoustics. LOVED our visit! Restaurants did not disappoint and our stay at Patio House was outstanding! Our hosts were incredible and ensured our stay was memorable and special. We felt very welcomed! Highly recommend making this walled town a stop and linger for a while during any trip to Portugal! The cobblestones and hills are worth it! Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

    We loved this city.

    We loved this city. It’s not tourist-packed town and it’s a perfect size, with lovely parks and nice shops and restaurants. People better are kind. That will help you with any language barriers if you’re patient. We enjoyed a nice ramen dinner nearby. Prices are reasonable in the city. The weather was beautiful and became cooler in the evenings.

    Covilhã is very interesting to visit. Lots to see.

    Covilhã is very interesting to visit. Lots to see. Many restaurants and cafes. Taverna a Laranjinha is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. Staff just fantastic and food excellent. Amazing interesting town.
