- From $310.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 882 reviewsEverything about our stay at the Sala was exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive. The facilities were spotless - it was honestly impressive how well coordinated and cohesive the team at the Sala were - we witnessed a member of staff identify a minor issue and within minutes it was resolved by maintenance. Our pool villa was perfect - the bed was comfortable, we had consistently good sleep throughout our stay. It was always a treat to come back to our room in the evenings to find a new nighttime tea before bed as part of the turndown service. We spent much of our time by the pools/beach - the loungers were very high quality, seating options were varied, pools were pristine. A huge shout out to the "beach boys" and bar staff who made our stay so great. Some of the best service we've had. The breakfast was EXCEPTIONAL. We cannot fault it - plentiful options, very high quality and service to match. We looked forward to it every day. Our experience at the Spa was very comfortable and worth every penny (we would highly recommend)! That said, guests should note that there is an independent spa operating on the beach right next to the resort which is very affordable - not to be missed if you want a cheap and cheerful massage while listening to the sound of the waves! The attention to detail and thoughtfulness around the guest experience - creating little moments throughout our stay to make it feel special - was such a treat. We don't often stay anywhere more than once, but we will certainly plan on returning to the Sala with no hesitation. Brilliant stay.Guest review byJohn RyanUnited Kingdom
- From $37.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 610 reviewsLocation, size of the room, aircon AND a fan, convenient little balcony for smoking, walking distance to the beach, quiet location, pool in the resort. While the entrance to the resort is on the main road, the rooms face out into a private alley belonging to the resort, the walls and close knit buildings serve to block a lot of noise from the beach and the main road, we had a room located closest to the street yet we slept very peacefully and with zero disturbanceGuest review byMarikaSouth Africa
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 352 reviews500 Rai is managed meticulously. From your arrival at the dock through departure time the staff has a "Customer is King“ attitude. The food is delicious. Being immersed within the world’s oldest evergreen forest with the opportunity to view wildlife from the provided kayak is awesome. The beautiful surroundings and view from the resort is exceptional. This is a must-do destination , don’t miss it.Guest review byKeithThailand

Koh Tao is still one of the few raw escapes in Thailand in my opinion, its divers and back packers heaven. However as a father with 2 kids in my forties i absolutely loved it. If you step away from the busy areas and off the beaten track you can find amazing coves and hiden gems still. The tourism all over the world has killed so much of our wildlife and reefs. The locals are definitely trying to do all they can to save it. Brilliant food, amazing views and a fun island.Guest review byDominicUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Chaweng is a beautiful destination for a chill out holiday
Chaweng is a beautiful destination for a chill out holiday The Jungle Tour is definitely worth doing & don't be afraid to barter the price Lots of eateries with great selection of food to choose from Fishermans Market is very pretty at night & there are bargains to be had If you hire a car or scooter - by careful if you like to dabble in the Green because the Police will pull you over & you will get a hefty fine - not worth it - grab a taxi or the local rides (which are cheap)Guest review byRuth WalkerUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The first two times we visited Koh Samui we stayed in Bophut near Fisherman's Village. After exploring the island a little more, we came to the conclusion that Lamai was the area we preferred, The beaches were better and sandy compared to Bophut which was more of a slush/muddy fell underfoot. Chaweng was a little too much for us, however, Lamai was just right.Guest review byRebeccaAustralia - 6.0
Not the nicest part of island.
Not the nicest part of island. Geared towards full moon party, laughing gas and fire shows. Quiet when not full moon in a nice way but the town is run down. Haad Rin beach is beautiful though. Saw quite a few families which was nice. Rented our bike from here and explored the island for a few days. Road between Haad Rin and Thong Sala and everywhere else on the East/West of the island is very steep hills to ride by bike.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The park is huge and amazing! So much to do and see.
The park is huge and amazing! So much to do and see. What I didn’t like was the entry sign with the discriminatory fees listed. In English, “ Foreigners 200 baht “, then, written in Thai, “ Thai citizens 40 baht “.Guest review byMarkUnited States - 10.0

Love the coastal areas & the variety of beaches in Mae Nam as well as the differing local food cultures. I especially liked the relaxed beach at Baan Fah Resort where the water was deep enough to swim just a short distance from the shore - a truly great beach. The best coffee house in Samui has to be Hachiya Coffee Roastery. And I highly recommend G- Bike Rentals.Guest review byAlanNew Zealand - 10.0
The Fisherman's Village was fantastic.
The Fisherman's Village was fantastic. No car or scooter access at night made for lovely walks along the street, seeing the markets and bars and restaurants in relative peace. Plus none of the typical sleazy Thai bars/clubs.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 8.0
I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location.
I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location. There are much nicer locations on the island to stay, however if you are like me, and like to explore, then this location is best as its in the middle of the coast line, and its close to central heart road ways that take you to any part of the island quickly.Guest review byMarkAustralia - 4.0

We were planning on 2 nights but changed plans and left after 1 as there is nothing to do on the town but look at shops. One temple to visit if wanted. Wish we hadn’t stayed the one night! Ok for a transfer through to the islands but nothing more in our opinion. Our taxi took us to the wrong ferry office which was annoying and no one really helped us find the correct one, thankfully we made it in time.Guest review byKimUnited Kingdom - 8.0
