Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.
King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.
Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.
Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.
Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.
I am very disappointed. The apartment is nothing like the photos...old and smelly. Very low maintenance to the property. There was a mole at the bathroom and a lot of Flys at the bath and washroom. The smell was awful of some very harsh cleaning liquid mixed with mole smell. They just took a very poor condition apartment and painted everything in white but it is still old and smelly ...painted the mole as well but you could still see and smell it

I love Cascais!
I love Cascais! There are many things to do here and nearby locations too. Great restaurants, shopping, beautiful parks, nature walks, cafes, museums, outdoor markets and not far from Cascais are the palaces of Sintra and even a Moorish castle. There is a train station in Cascais with trains that go directly into Lisbon in about 25 minutes. Without hesitation i recommend a visit to this beautiful city. I think you will love it too!

Cascais is a beautiful area.
Cascais is a beautiful area. Easily one of the most prettiest places we have stayed in. A beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and an array of beautiful buildings. Easy to pop on the train to Lisbon which took 40 mins and worth the few euros it cost. We visited in Nov so the weather wasn't hot but we had a lovely warm breeze plus a few showers but you expect that at that time of year.
The only issue we had was bringing a car to cascais. We parked nearby and unloaded checked in and went to move our car but we had already received an expensive ticket. The place though was great the hotel clean and safe and perfect for our stay and in a great location. The staff was amazing super helpful, friendly and provided so much great information about places to cost restaurants to eat Ayn and just generally very helpful and friendly. The place was small but very clean and comfortable.
Traditional hotel on the seafront with a lovely view from our room and from the dining areas and some truly excellent food. The weather was kind enough for us to enjoy sea swimming both mornings. The staff are extremely pleasant, some having worked in the hotel for many years. We also noted that some guests return year after year and we understand why. I am sure this may not be the most modern hotel in the town, but for us it was the best we could have hoped for.
Everything about the apartment was wonderful. Alex is a great host, pleasant and welcoming to all the family. We loved the location of the apartment, as nearby were some great restaurants and beaches. It was ten minutes to walk to the beautiful cascais town centre and a short drive to Lisbon. We had everything we needed including the pool which was greatly appreciated by our two children who spent many hours in it.
We would love to return one day.
Amazing hotel, good location, great facilities! Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom, new modern furniture, high speed WIFI, coffee-tea facilities and also great breakfast provided in the dining room!
Highly recommended!
The hotel is not too big and super cute in a nice little typical Portuguese street, only few steps from the train station. No noise from the street! Really the best option in Cascais!
This hotel is situated perfectly in the center of Cascais, you can easily walk everywhere of interest. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I had a wonderful stay for nearly a week here. The room was very spacious and had plenty of room to set up your belongings in organized closets, including large space for hanging your clothes. I highly recommend both the area and especially this hotel.
Great hostel+ with a pool and relaxing atmosphere. The best hostel I've stayed at so far! We booked a large, separate room with all the facilities of a nice hotel room. We came from Lisbon to beat the worst of the summer heat and appreciated the efficient ceiling fan and the pool. The hostel caters to those who like new experiences and meeting new people. It is located a short walk from the beach.
we had a sea view which was fab. my daughter and friend had city views, their rooms appeared a bit larger and had , i believe, been refurbished. the location was perfect with all the shops, bars and restaurants on our doorstop. staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the food. some other friends stayed in a 5 star hotel and didn't enjoy their stay as much as us
The facilities were as expected for a 5 star hotel, everything looked freshly renewed, with great taste and attention to details, everything was immaculate clean.
Cherry on top, which we can say deserving 6 stars (out of 5), the professionalism and excellency of the staff - definitely worth it.
Breakfast is amazing! Easily one of the best breakfasts I ever had in a hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff is super nice and the private garden is my favourite. Super convenient location, 3-5 min walk to the beach (and all the restaurants and bars)
Proximity to the beach and town of Cascais. Parking the car was made easy by the hotel in underground lot. Breakfast was delicious. Pool and pool bar were lovely in the afternoon. Room was beautiful and spacious and housekeeping was done daily!
Unbelievable value, best room I've stayed in in a long time, beautifully decorated and clean. Lobby is lovely, very relaxing and beach chic, massive breakfast choice, staff made sure we had had plenty before closing down. Excellent hotel.
We love the position of the hotel, as it is close to our family who live in Cascais. We visit Portugal about 5 times a year
Staff are friendly.
Hotel room clean.
Breakfasts are good.Cannnot comment on other meals.
The hotel is studied in every detail, the co-working and common spaces are really beautiful. The staff is very nice. The room is comfy, very nice and clean. Favorite thing: best breakfast we’ve had in Portugal
Great location by the sea. Generous brfeakfast, fantastic view, awesome staff.
Will definitely recommend this hotel.
If ever coming back to Cascais, will definitely book this hotel again!
Beautiful outdoor pool area, very relaxing and the kids loved the kids pool and area!. A short walk from central Cascais. Nice, spacious, comfortable hotel rooms and hotel amenities.
I love the staff that was so personable as well as informative. I loved the grounds the entire hotel has been made to be the focal point of the prestigious Cascais.
