Wedge Mountain Inn, hotel in Leavenworth

Located in Peshastin, Washington, just 5.3 mi from the city center of Leavenworth, this hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool. Free Wi-Fi is included in all guest rooms.

Clean and affordable! Host was very kind and helpful. Really enjoyed the sheep we could see from our balcony and the desert hills. I appreciated the mini fridge, microwave and one-cup coffee maker since we had some food and snacks. Ice machine was available on the first floor. Comfortable bed and nice to have a key dropbox check out since we had to leave in the morning. Down the street, a walkable distance, was a small cafe called The Y Cafe. Good food and opens at 7am. Only 10 minutes from Leavenworth and if you are a rock climber only 5 minutes from Peshastin Pinnacles. Great for the budget traveler who wants to go for a weekend trip from Seattle!

Leavenworth is a weird town that thinks it's in Bavaria (or Bavaria of the 1960s). It's quite touristy, and the shops are expensive, but it's very walkable. Most of the restaurants sell sausage and sauerkraut, but for one or two nights that's fine. The best feature is a lovely nature park, great for evening walks.

We go to Leavenworth every year to celebrate my birthday. It’s one of the most special days of the year. I can’t think of a better place close to home to spend my birthday. The only drawback was the hotel that we stayed in, Mrs. Anderson’s Lodge was unfortunately, extremely disappointing. Other than that, we love the people there and the shops, food and festivities.

I liked the beauty of the landscape and the friendliness of the locals. The store in Plain was awesome and they had everything! I highly recommend the small bottles of moonshine, especially the orange creamsicle! Leavenworth itself was too commercialized, too many people and tourists. In my opinion, it is overrated. I'd rather enjoy the surrounding area, it is so peaceful along the river and walking bridge that's outside the town of Plain.

We rode Amtrak from Seattle which required a two-night stay. We visited during an off-season but on a weekend. Many people visit on the weekends. The weather was warmer during our visit which was nice. We loved the mountain views and air. The shops were interesting. We enjoyed the visit but don't expect to return.

Check-in and check-out were both very quick and the room was quite clean. Staff were very friendly and conversational. The bed and chairs were nice and comfy. I stayed near the tail end of the off season, so I didn't have to worry about neighbors. The hotel is just a five minute walk away from downtown, so it is in a convenient location, and the property is well kept up.

This place was super close to Leavenworth so commuting to town was maybe a 5-10 min drive. The price was a nice relief as hotels in town were super pricey. Our check-in guy was very friendly and helpful plus they have coffee for you in the morning! Lots of parking available and there happened to be a cute sheep farm outside our unit which made for a fun experience.

The hotel was conveniently located off the main road, right next to Safeway, and right near downtown Leavenworth. The check in clerk was friendly. Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had a very restful, relaxing stay. The free breakfast had a nice variety of hot and cold options. The pool area looked nice, but I didn’t get a chance to use it.

I love when a place exceeds my expectations. The Blue Elk Inn did that by providing immaculate grounds, very comfortable beds, clever decor and one of the best free breakfasts I have ever had at a hotel. I also loved that it was in a more quiet part of town and away from all the tourist craziness of downtown Leavenworth.
