So serene and beautiful here. We were so moved and inspired to be invited into the rhythm of temple life at Habanobo. The vegetarian food was was flavourful and delicate and prepared with love and care. We will remember our walk around Kuon-ji and the upper temple for the rest of our lives. Thank you for your kindness and gracious hospitality. We hope to return to this sacred place.

This stay was the highlight of our weeklong romantic trip.
This stay was the highlight of our weeklong romantic trip. The chief priest assigned to us,”Ken”, was exceptionally kind, informative and helpful as was his wife. Both were remarkably gracious hosts. The temple compound and tour was truly remarkable. Highly recommended.

The area is best accessed I think by car.
The area is best accessed I think by car. We hired from Shizuoka and it was a great, simple drive to the place. We did a day trip to Mount Fuji and a craft village. The town itself had some interesting little shops and the temple area was amazing especially as there seemed to be far more people visiting to pray rather than tourists like us! After the Kyoto temples it was so calm and relaxing.
