This place is amazing, really well located in a very calm neighborhood that is still a short walk from all the shops and buzz. This is a Villa with several, rooms and houses named after famous people that Charlie Chaplin knew and it had a very special feel to stay there. The entire place was very tastefully decorated and had all the amenities you can think of. We LOVED the bathroom, it's funny that our favorite feature was the bathroom but it's really cute, comfy, the shower is amazing and for the bathroom singers out there, best acoustic ever!

FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

Good for tourists wishing to view iconic sites. The city as a whole though is a mess. Little if any civic pride displayed as most streets and freeways have rubbish strewn about. Smog is still a big problem for anyone suffering from respiratory issues.

    Los Angeles is very large.

Los Angeles is very large. Most of it is very run down due to poor infrastructure investment. There are some great places to visit (e.g. Santa Monica, Griffith Observatory, WB Studios) If you don't want to spend most of your holiday in a car the Metro is cheap and convenient, as long as it goes to near where you want to visit. Homelessness is apparent in many areas. A large part of Downtown is a no go area. A week in LA is more than enough.

You can almost never run out of things to do here!

You can almost never run out of things to do here! Between theme parks, tours, hiking, the beach, arcades, high end restaurants and food trucks there is truly something for everyone in Los Angeles. If the city is too fast for you, the suburban areas have interesting surprises to keep you engaged at a slower pace. Traffic really sucks, but if look past it, there is just so much to do. I'd reccommend a day at Universal Studies for the backlot tour and end the day with some Korean BBQ, maybe at Seoul Soul in K-town. Burrantino's Pizza in Carson is a hidden gem and you gotta hit Fat Burger or Marathon Burger for a meat fix.

Definitely a place worth visiting, luckily I have family there that showed me all the sights, one recommendation is go to Universal Studios over Disney especially if have older kids, queues are much shorter and you get everything included in the costs. Studio tours are amazing in both Universal and WB. Rent a car and enjoy the sights, so much to do there and lots of choices

You would only stay here for universal and it’s a short walk away, so that’s good. I think the extra charges for parking are too much considering the hotel is not cheap. It was clean, that’s all we needed. The area around the hotel is not nice and I wouldn’t walk around there if I had kids with me.

It’s nice for this price. Very friendly, good location, close to Universal Studio (12 min by car). At the corner a nice Café and a mini market. Secure area of West Hollywood. If you want to save money on hotels and live secure, book here. Don’t book in Downtown.
