A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
Due to big wind and snow in Hakodate, we did not get a chance to visit Mt. Hakodate, but spent most of time in hotel today. Fortunately we booked a Premier Delux Twin room on 12F, with good view and space, plus the nice facility to ensure we had a good stay in the city.
1. The hot spring is super nice. Starting from 14F, then extend to the roof on the 15F. With a good view on Mt. Hakodate and the harbor.
2. Breakfast is wonderful too.
3. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Definitely recommend for you to stay here when visit Hakodate!
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is ideally located close to Hakodate’s train station. We walked from there in less than 10 minutes. Our twin room was spacious, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and lots of amenities (coffee, tea, water, kettle, iron, safe, etc.). The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast on offer had a huge selection that was fresh and tasty. The spa on the rooftop was very special.
Location is amazing. Right next to Hakodate station. 10 mins walk (in the winter) to the seafood market. Room was spacious, we booked a family room and it was very comfortable for 4 adults to stay. There is a big Onsen area for male/ female (separate) and it was great for us as the room only has one bathroom/ shower room. There are a few restaurants and convenient stores right next to the hotel. Strongly recommend and will stay here again!!
Our room was upgraded to triple share, which was great. We needed the extra space for our luggages, etc.
Plenty of towels & toiletries. There was an ice machine in the lobby area. The location is great. 3 mins walk from Hakodate train station & bus terminal. There are plenty of eateries & minimarts around the hotel. We also had a nice view of the sea port. Would stay here again, next time.
Clean property with comfortable rooms, incredible hot spring amenities (including sauna, steam room, and cold bath), and free wine/coffee/juice. The hotel is a quick 5-minute walk to Hakodate Station, making this a very convenient location. The staff are also kind and professional! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfy place to stay and top-tier spa amenities in Hakodate.
The hotel is located near Gokyuraku area, its about a 10 minute walk to the fort park.
I got to Hakodate around 7 and took a tram to the hotel, its a short walk from the tram stop.
Other than some unique aspects to the decoration, there wasn't anything really that stood out, and this is despite the hotel having a Sauna as a selling point. this was underwhelming.
This hotel is impeccably clean. The lounge on level 17 has amazing sunset views with a bar open at certain times of the day. The onsrn on Level 18 was. lovely, soaking.away tired muscles each day was a delight. Loved having a washing machine/dryer in our room.
Location is a 4 minute walk to Hakodate JR Station and at the edge of the morn8ng fish market.
The property is only 5 minutes from Hakodate Station which makes it very convenient for travellers.
Shiyakusho-mae and Hakodate Ekimae are the nearest tram station (only 2mins walk). The tram / street car will take you to all famous spots in Hakodate.
There are some konbini near the hotel. I had everyhing I needed. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you
Located conveniently right at JR Hakodate Station. There's a souvenir shop nearby to buy confectionery and snacks. The morning market is located across the road from the hotel. There are also many buses to go to tourist attractions that are further away. I like the booth seat and chairs in the room where we could seat 4 to eat and chat.
It's a great location, 2 minutes walk from Sapporo station; quite a lot of eating places other than Hakodate Market; room size was small, accommodating two persons was impossible, however, the hotel chose quality pillows, so...; breakfast was buffet-style, not great but sufficient; staff was polite and helpful, that part was great.
The standard studio is quite spacious for 3 people. We love the separation design of the bathroom and the toilet especially.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They always replied to my enquiry message promptly. And the location is quite convenient. We will definitely stay in Fav again when we visit Hakodate next time.
The location is good, Hachiman-Zaka Slope, Red brick warehouse are just nearby. It’s also not too far from Hakodate JR station, even if you need to take tram or bus, the stops are not too far. The building is historic, lobby looks like hotel, there’s an elevator if you got heavy luggage. Restroom and shower are very clean.
We loved our very clean spacious room, the warm welcome and care of our hosts. They embodied the spirit of a ryokan or good niche hotel. Not in terms of luxury but by their hospitality. The location is perfect, and, as we noted, staying here in this lovely decorated place was a worthwhile attraction of Hakodate in itself.
Henmi Ryokan is a wonderful little place to relax while visiting Hakodate. Its a short walk away from the JR Hakodate Terminal and the fish market. Futons and the room were comfortable and clean and the proprietor is a wonderful lady. I do wish our Japanese was better so we could have conversed with her more.
I have to say a big thank you to the staff. My mom forgot the room number and got lost in the hotel. To find her, we caused lots of trouble to staff. But they show patience and professionalism. This group are so helpful. Thanks. I will book this hotel again if I had a chance to visit Hakodate again.
The APA in Hakodate Ekimae was very good. The personnel spoke very good English (which surprised me since it wasn't the case in Kyoto).
Breakfast was the best of all APA hotels I stayed with. Loved it!
The room was much bigger so it was a bit more comfortable for luggages.
Great location. The hotel is attached to the Hakodate train station and directly across from the market. Staff were super friendly and helpful. As a solo traveller, you can't really ask for anything more. Great stay!
The hotel is located next to the Hakodate Eki (Hakodate Main Station) and 5 mins to Asaichi area. This was our 2nd stay since 2020. The room was VERY clean. Want to go back again soon!
