At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.
However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.
The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.
The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.
The hotel location is great. You are right across the street from two large department stores and designer brands like LV. There is a metro station in the basement as well as some restaurants and a boutique.
It's a couple of blocks from Shinasaibashi Dori and about a 12 minute walk to Dotonburi.
Hotel staff is very helpful and welcoming.

Osaka is great, almost a world apart from Tokyo culturally.
Osaka is great, almost a world apart from Tokyo culturally. It was far less formal and felt almost like you had left Japan (the amount of tourists probably helped contribute to that also). We had some amazing nights there, meeting some great people, but can be a bit exhausting if you save Osaka until the end of a long trip. It deserves at least 4 days in itself, being mindful of how mental Dotonburi is at the weekend. It's like being a tourist in a tin of sardines.

The popular areas can be a bit overwhelming but we found lovely walks by the river and open spaces to escape the crowds. Close to Kyoto for day trips.
Excellent food at the local restaurants. Don’t be intimidated by the lack of menus in English.

Great city to visit, shopping is fantastic and not as busy as Tokyo. Plenty to do. We used the train network, the train network is both beyond great and easy to use if you live there, (meaning) we were a group of six and have travelled many times in the past and in Japan the rail took lots of effort to understand the complexity on that large scale, some of the smallest of stations are the size of melbournes main station, the stations are so big, a simple mistake is a lot of wasted time.

Osaka full of adventures, good foods, visiting points.
Osaka full of adventures, good foods, visiting points. I like to join local tour to Kyoto and places around Osaka. I tried different type of food like omaskase, belt sushi, shabu shabu, spaghetti, crab, wagyu and more, very tasty and delicious. Universal Studio is my favorite place to go.
Osaka is really good.
Great location located near Shin-Osaka Station, very convenient for travel to locations like Kyoto or for Shinkansen. Short walk to other lines for about 20-30 min ride to Namba/Osaka Station (for Den Den Town or Dottonbori) or to Nara. My 2nd APA hotel during my first trip to Japan, seems like a reliable hotel chain. There is a vending machine for milk right outside the onsen on the 2nd floor. The TV in the room also had casting and free VODs. There are also quite a few familymart convenience stores and other restaurants nearby.
This was one of our favorite hotel stays. The breakfast was amazing with both western and Japanese options. The staff was wonderful, helpful, and easy to communicate with. The hotel itself was pristine. The beds were very close to each other. So, although we were in “twin beds” it was like we were sharing a king bed. The hotel itself is about a 30 minute walk from Osaka Station; however, there were closer subway lines that may be able to take you to the Station. This was early on in our trip. So, we really didn’t look into it.
I love the reception staff, polite yet friendly and super helpful despite my broken elementary-japanese language level.
I also love that even though the room is small, their bath makes up for it. Our booked roon has a very nice bath tub and I love the hotel’s amenities specially the shampoo, conditioner makes your hair soft and smooth even in a very cold weather and also the body soap, all smell so good and feels relaxing after long tiring day walking around Osaka and other parts of Japan
Will definitely come back again
Convinient location only a few min walk away from attractions like Kizu Market and the Namba Yasaka Shrine. Apartment was spacious, clean, and none smoking (which was a bonus as we travelled with little kids). Although they don’t have a front desk, the customer service contact on WeChat responds very promptly to all our queries including assisting us for best route to the airport. I’d highly recommends for people travelling that prefers a slow paste and doesn’t want to change hotels during their stay in Osaka!
Location, few minutes walk from Shin Imamiya station which has access to most of daytrips I have from Osaka like Himeji, Koyasan and Nara (Nankai + JR). Close also to Shinsekai (walking distance), Namba/Dotonbori (2 trains stops). Apartment is also fully furnished so you can experience what a Japanese household usually have, love the best the heated toilet and bathtub! Staff tries hard to communicate with you even if they also have hard time to speak English.
This is the best hotel in Osaka. The staff was very nice and helpful, my mom lost her phone on the rental car and the hotel’s staff was helping us to contact with the car company until we got our phone back. Most of the staff can speak English. The room is a little small but normal for Japanese hotels. Location of the hotel is great I can easily walk to Shinsaibashi, Dotonburi and Kuromon market is just across the road. Definitely come back to stay again!!!
The hotel was very clean and have enough space for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children). It's also a strone throw from the nearest station and there's a mall across the street. Osaka castle is within walking distance. The neighbourhood area is quiet and comfortable, but that also means there's nothing much to do at night. Breakfast was simple but good enough. There are Japanese as well as western options available in the buffet line.
If you are looking for a peaceful stay that is not too far from the main areas, this is the place. The Chillax trip in Osaka couldn't be better as mainly we spent our time in Osaka city with 2 subway lines that cover most of attractions. Small area of reception compared to many guests but when you went to your floor luckily was not too noisy. The bed was comfortable and the room size is bigger than many standard japanese hotels.
Coming from of the 4 hotels we stayed at during our 3 weeks in Japan this was by far the largest and most modern room yet. Very impressed by the size, cleanliness and quality of the room. Self-check in and out was easy, received email with details day before arriving in Osaka. In room laundry was a plus, but we ended up going to a coin laundry to dry our clothes anyways. Great deal for anyone wanting to stay in the Namba area.
5 mins walk to Namba Station. Stone’s throw away to the happening Dotonbori area. Family mart is very nearby. So many eateries and restaurants around.
Staff were friendly and approachable.
They have a corner where you can get free ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and beer from 3-9pm; free cup noodles from 8.30-9pm. Fantastic for kids!
Room was small, as are other hotels here in Japan but no problem for us as a couple.
The hotel was really clean and modern. It was a really nice room, perfect for our 5 night stay in Osaka. Loved that it was right next to Namba station and only a walkable distance from Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. Even the facilities like the lounge room, coffee machine, vending machine and coin laundry was so helpful for us. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Osaka!
One of the best and most unique hotels we have stayed at. It literally has everything you need and more - free toiletries, free soft drinks and popcorn, massage chairs, darts, even karaoke rooms! Our room was very spacious and had a great bathtub with a TV next to it. Impressive hotel and a must visit place if you are in Osaka. Dotonbori str. is close by, as is Namba station.
Location was perfect for touring the Dotonbori neighborhood and just a short walk from Namba Station. The staff was helpful and attentive with room requests. When I asked about getting a cab to Osaka Castle one of the staff immediately went to the front of the hotel and hailed a cab for us and then told the driver where we wanted to go. We would stay there again.
Since 2006, have been staying Toyoko inn hotel when i come to japan for my work. At this price, there nothing much to pick on....Seriously, i can say that the breakfast is pretty good and there is bus service to Osaka Umeda station. Travel to all tourist spot is accessible with public transport. My family love staying in Toyoko inn!
Good location as a base for four days in Osaka, Kyoto and Hiroshima - once we worked out that it is EXIT 7 from the Midosuji line (this saves a lot of walking to hotel). Standard APA room layout - compact but great use of space and everything works. Also best English at reception of any hotel we stayed at in Japan.
Great location, easy access to all bars and restaurants in Dotonbori. Easy to get to from Shin-Osaka station, although the hotel could have mentioned which exit to take in Namba station! The bedroom was compact but comfortable. It was nice to find English speaking films on TV.
near dotonbori a 15 minute walk for us pilipino. where happy to stay at takuto hotel osaka shinsaibashi. the room is spacious for family of 5 we booked the connecting room and i was happy about it my family love it.
I like the room toilet is big and clean, so far it's the biggest toilet among all the hotels I have stayed in Japan. The location also convenient to access to the attraction of Osaka.
