We opted for the continental breakfast which was just ok. In the past, we have had the full buffet which consisted of hot dishes. Halima made us some good coffee. Amenities are replenished daily. The bathroom and shower are very good. Did not want to leave the shower!! Wonderful water pressure and immediate hot water. The shower, hair, conditioner gels are of excellent quality as is the body cream! The toilet does have a bidet hose, which was a bonus for us. The room comes with its own air-conditioning. Also, I think the room is sprayed, so there are no mosquitoes and you can have a restful sleep. It was nice to see the manager get stuck in with unpacking new outdoor furniture with the staff. There is a kettle in room with ample tea/coffee/milk/water. Also, an iron and ironing board. This time, we had a balcony overlooking the pool area with sea views. Enjoyed our daily banter with Nuru, the security guard, who was very thorough when also dealing with our Uber drivers and checking their details. The lady who greeted us at breakfast each morning, was also very nice and welcoming. The location of the hotel is very good and safe and this is a huge plus for us. The hotel in general, rooms, bathrooms etc. is very clean. Also, enjoyed using the gym. The Indian manager is also attentive and always asks for feedback, which is good in our opinion and it is good to see a familiar face during our stay.

Try to avoid this city if possible!
Try to avoid this city if possible! They have nice pictures of some areas in travelling brochures but this is like 5% of the toal city. Mostly this city is heavily broken roads, mud-walkways, overcrowded, traffic jams and polluted air. When flying to Tanzania try to be it that city not too long. Fly or drive away to your next destination ASAP. And remember - prefer to use (locally represented) agency when travelling longer distances in Tanzania. If something happens with the vehicle (sooner or later it will happen) you have someone who might help you or at least worries about you.

I liked the outskirts of town - 1hr away from the airport...
I liked the outskirts of town - 1hr away from the airport was where I spent most at. The main city was a bit overwhelming and stressful at times, i.e. police officers hunting after foreigners and questioning your presence etc. I had two occasions where I was stopped just like that and the officers asking heaps of questions like where you come from, what your travels purpose was, what do you do, and if you're married (I'm a female solo traveller). I answered all the questions succinctly & clearly. However these officers just somehow would find ways to make it go longer than necessary. One even accused me of not having the right document (I was like what do you mean with the valid passport and visa?!). Anyway, he wanted to take me to the police station and court of law. I had a local driver with me who talked him out of it by giving him some shillings. And he turned to me and said "it's solved". Make sure you always carry your passport or ID documents with you. It's always helpful to know at least a local that you can reach out too when you find yourself trapped in tricky situations. Not much to see either in DAR. Maybe spend more time outside of the city.

Dar es Salaam is wonderful city to visit.
Dar es Salaam is wonderful city to visit. It has many interesting sites and amazing high-end restaurants to choose from. We had a wonderful experience at the AKEMI REVOLVING RESTAURANT where my spouse thoroughly enjoyed Lasagna. My grilled chicken was not exactly up to the task but passable. The service was great but the hotel manager Mr. Lorenzo Sachin could do with some PR. He moved around the restaurant totally ignoring some tables (such as ours) while busying himself with customers on other tables. Mr. Sachin, customer equity is important more so in hotel and restaurant industry... Mwenda (Kenya)
stayed in this hotel for a work trip. the hotel is unique in terms of staffs and their supports. the rooms are quite big and provided with AC (and electricity reserve generator). the hotel is a little old but the experience and professional behavior of personal is quite satisfying. the strong point of the hotel is its restaurant with unique delicious and professionally designed foods from best fresh materials. the hotels is near to public beach with 10 minutes walk.

This is a Real Gem in a Angle of Paradise .. I come from Italy but when in Dar for my work i always choose this Hotel.. Very good rates, swimming pool and beach, excellent restaurant and breakfast and so many possibilities to relax and enjoy activities .. i really advice it to everyone and i will return next week when back from internal Tanzania!
One of the cheapest hotels in Dar Es Salaam and for that price you get a basic but clean room and bathroom, airconditioning, TV, good wifi, a basic breakfast, a central location and above all I found the staff extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Even the manager came to say hello. Recommended for those on a budget!
The apartments were absolutely beautiful. They had nice bedrooms and living rooms. The had nice bathrooms, well designed and clean. The air condition worked perfectly well. Of the three hotels and apartment we stayed, this was the best. The host was very kind and helpful.
Good service by staff at the check-in. Property is located on the beach but access to the beach has been ruined due to hotel building a retaining wall on the beach and no room for the guest to use the beach in front of the property. Cleanness of the area and room.
This is my favorite hotel in Dar Es Salaam. I love the rooms. They’re spacious and equipped with a microwave and a tea kettle which is a plus for me. I also felt safe because there are security guards on on site.
The Hostel was clean with a friendly host who really assisted me in commuting around Dar es salaam town. I strongly recommend The Haven Hostel to all Hostel and Backpackers lovers visiting Dar es salaam.
The Coral beach beachfront bar has to-date some of the best sunset views I have ever seen. the Hotel is also fairly accessible and within a short drive to many. offices and eateries in the Msasani Area
