I loved how cozy and quiet the hotel was. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. They even had free popcorn and happy hour. Wish I knew about that when I reserved the room, I would have planned around it better.

FAQs about hotels in San Antonio

The Legend of the West

San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions: The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions - Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct - are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.

The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping center, while La Villita artisan village has more traditional crafts.

Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Booking.com has several San Antonio hotels near the Alamodome, and more accommodations near San Antonio Airport.

On the outskirts of the city are Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The city also hosts the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the country’s biggest Western events.

Very ghetto low class, super dangerous. Im not surprised, texas is the worse state i have ever visit. Sherrif department/ Animal Control are always the most fraudulent and corrupted. Stray animals suffering 💔 I stayed first for long at Encino Park Suburban area. And I hated. Then visited other areas it kept getting worse. Low class city/ ppl rude weird. To many Karen's.

The trip to SA was ok, until to get to the downtown area, which is where the riverwalk attractions are at..ALL THE AREA was under construction, the streets are vaguely marked with real small signs, some of the streets are "one ways" and some are not and there are no signs to alert you to that, you have to sort of follow traffic and get lucky to where you are going. SA down town has streets going in all directions making it hard to follow because of the poor visability of names of the streets... the city should have chosed a better time to do all the freaking construction....

Love all the places to visit ... especially the River Walk.

Love all the places to visit ... especially the River Walk. The only thing I would do is visit the River Walk in the Fall or Winter. It is just too darn hot for all the walking. You don't want to miss it. Once you get used to the highway, it becomes a piece of cake to get around. People are very friendly!

The city is just big enough to have multiple things to do around town, but not so big that you get lost in the hustle of city life and movements. A perfect place to either go and have a great time with family and friends, or to have a relaxing stay-cation.

I liked the location of the hotel to the Riverwalk and alamodome. I also liked the convenience of parking options for my car. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I arrived early, and they were able to check me into a room. I was expecting to wait until check-in time, but they were able to accomated me early. That was appreciated. They have dining at the hotel- ruth chris steak house, or you can eat on the Riverwalk. Access to the river walk is right at the hotel, too.

Pool area was nice given the location. Eating options were varied and of good quallity. The bar staff and gentlemen working during our stay was excellent. The location was good. The city centre was easily reached from the hotel, but The Marriot was a lot quieter than the downtown area and a lot cheaper. Plus didn't have to pay crazy valet parking rates in the city centre hotels. We were glad we had chosen to stay there for our 2 nights, rather than the hotels around the river walk.
