You need a car.
You need a car. I made the mistake of not applying for a license in Korea before I left for my trip so I couldn't rent a car and it would have made a huge difference to have one. Other then that, everything was so pretty and so different from the other areas I've seen in Korea. There was lots of cute cafes and restaurants around and tons of convent stores too.
