The hotel is simply fantastic. Clean, spacious, cozy rooms with AC and comfy beds. Staff at reception were kind and helpful at all time. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, ,but it's right next to Vienna's main train and bus station, plus there are several tram stops nearby, and it's surroundings are marked by modern buildings, restaurants, supermarkets and clean, ample safe streets. One last detail I really liked about this hotel is that they provide free coffee at reception. I know it may sound unimportant, but I thought it was a nice touch. I would definitely return to ibis Hauptbanof on my next trip to Vienna.

Location, just near Schonbrun domain, just over the street from a lateral entry, close to the zoo. The fact that we had a big enough family room for the children and us, and a nice and functional bathroom. Verry good value for the money, compared to other options for us in the same period. Very close to the subway. Great breakfast choices and nice restaurant staff, especially the "egg's" chef lady. I'd give it an 8.5 rating if I could. Might be coming back on a future city-break with the kids.

FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the center of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current center of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

Plenty to see and do in Vienna.

Plenty to see and do in Vienna. We particularly enjoyed walking the streets around the historical quarter and enjoyed watching the horses in action at the Spanish Riding School. The National Library is worth a visit. Perhaps the gardens at Belvedere underperformed and were below par with what one would expect for a national treasure

Vienna is a very walkable city, and feels very safe for solo travellers (I stayed in the city centre so I can't say for the outskirts). It's also very clean but sometimes the smell from the horses (and their poop), especially when it's hot weather, is quite strong. There are many many eating options, for every pockets and tastes although I'd say is more on the expensive side, even if they give you huge portions so maybe it balances it out (I consider myself a moderate eater but I honestly couldn't finish my meals, so big!!). The best and most fun option is the market in front of the Rathaus (city hall), lots of options from all over the world, affordable and well organised (only in July and August). The tap water (from fountains etc) is quite good, perfect for refilling. I went to Vienna mainly to visit museums (entrance is on the pricey side), and luckily they are all close to each other so I just walked everywhere. The Kunsthistorisches museum is worth every penny, even just for the building itself, glorious (allocate at least 4 hrs, even more) but the Sisi museum was a bit of a let down, especially the way the visit is constructed at the beginning, dark walls, narrow corridors, quite claustrophobic, especially in summer (not recommended, someone actually felt ill).Albertina was quite charming as well. Churches also worth a visit, especially if free. Overall there's so much to do and see that a short visit won't do but Vienna is a must see anyway you can.

Vienna is one of those cities that I truly love.

Vienna is one of those cities that I truly love. It is not only beautiful and elegant, but also incredibly well-organized and welcoming. Every time I visit, I enjoy walking through its historic streets, exploring the museums and cultural landmarks, and spending time in the cozy cafés that give the city such a unique charm. The atmosphere feels both peaceful and inspiring, and there is always something new to discover, whether it’s art, music, or simply a quiet park to relax in. For me, Vienna is a place where I feel at ease and inspired at the same time. Of course, it can be a bit expensive, but the experience it offers makes it completely worth it

As a regular traveler to Vienna, I have derived my standard set of places. I'm always staying at Arte Hotel Stadthalle with public traffic at hands. My morning coffee is in Hofburg's Burggarten, similarly first meal traditionally at Hard Rock Cafe. For wiener schnitzel few favorites, one close to the hotel Gastwirtschaft Schilling, other one Falco's restaurant, which is also a true museum dedicated to the singer. For burgers don't miss Le Burger in the Innenstadt. Then I would visit museum of modern art Mumok, followed by Albertina. From time to time also Haus des Meeres aquarium sideways of Mariahilferstrasse, vibrant and mostly tourist free quarter. Schönbrunn, Belvedere and Botanisches garten are also must see however there are many more attractions to check so choose by yourself what suits you best (check Vienna Info web site). And above all use public transport, U-bahn for longer distances, tram for shorter ones, with notable exception of linie 1, which offers a beautiful sight over the city center and main locations.

We visited lots of places in 3 days… but i definitely recommend visiting Schönbrunn Palace, Schönbrunn Zoo, Desert House , Imperial Treasury Vienna, Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, Museum of Natural History Vienna , Weltmuseum Wien, Museum of Military History, Vienna Museum of Science & Technology, Haus des Meeres. We bought Vienna Pass but be aware that Vienna pass doesn’t include all Schönbrunn palace, but only apartments. I was disappointed of the morning exercise from Spanish Riding School , Orangerie from Schonbrunn and Sisi museum. Sisi museum doesn’t have a garderobe and it was very crowded. There are only few rooms to visit … lomg story short i was disappointed, i don’t recommend it .

Perfect location, 2 metro stops from the city centre. Hotel was exceptionally clean, staff polite and friendly. Room was a good size, beds super comfortable amd bathroom was also good size. The aircon was a blessing since the temps were very high during our stay. The lady assisting during breakfasts is a lovely lady who makes sure everything is where it needs to be, will go above and beyond. Breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from and great strong coffee too. I would definitely come back when in Vienna. Thank you!

The room was very big, clean and had a balcony which would have been good if it wasn't during a storm. The bathroom was very big with a separate toilet, shower and bath area, plus two sinks. The hotel is very close to a station to go to/from the airport, plus the tram/other trains to easily move around Vienna. Though it isn't that far to walk to many restaurants and the city centre.
