I always look for 2 main things in a hotel - the comfort of the bed and the quality of the shower - and both of these were excellent. We had upgraded our room before arrival, so I cannot comment on other standard room types, we had a Deluxe Double room on the 4th floor. It was quiet, especially as there was a wedding on that weekend. We did not book breakfast as we were away early, so I cannot comment on that. We would certainly stay again.

This year is the city of culture in Bradford.

This year is the city of culture in Bradford. Not having been back for many years I expected lots of change and I was'nt disappointed. Total culture change very sad in some ways and good in others. The town centre is a collection of gambling places hair salons and the high street favourite charity shops. However the new Kirkgate market on Darley Street has had some work done on it. My only thought on that is why so many empty listed buildings and still construct a new one. I am sure there are many reasons. It is my hometown so will always be a special place for me.

I used to live in Bradford and the changes to the city centre are fantastic - pedestrianised, more relaxed, almost continental. Loved the flower beds and the new Daley St market and little bistro bars, brilliant!

Lots of history, and easy to get round as plenty of buses, get day tickets for unlimited trips.Lister park is a real treasure with Cartwright hall. Saltaire mill and the industrial museum are great places to visit with family. Places to eat , plenty of good curry houses,---My Lahore, our favorite, also the Polish Bistro just round from the Leonardo hotel is fabulous!! The centre has a water park used by families on hot summer nights ---- unfortunately in August the Alhambra theatre is shut down for re-furb. So we couldn't see anything in there!! Centre can be a bit confusing with old and new mix , lots of eateries in Broadway Centre but very few cafe with outside tables. For piece and quiet, Bradford Catherdral is lovely and Lister Park is well worth a wander through.

Bradford is in the middle of its year as 'City of Culture'.

Bradford is in the middle of its year as 'City of Culture'. The amount of places with free entry is staggering, although you often need to book the free tickets. The Cartwright Art Gallery in the lovely Lister Park is a good half day visit. The refurbished Media and Science Museum is excellent. Don't miss the Tower of Now near to this museum. If you can go to the Railway Children, do so. It is a magical and unmissable performance. Bradford itself is a delight. It's now grand, not grim. The Victorian architecture is a treat, both in the centre and Little Germany. Give the cathedral a visit in this area.

As first-timers to Bradford we were pleasantly surprised by the 'City Park' and the proximity of large attractions. The hotel is wonderfully old-fashioned, in a lovely way, and the staff were excellent. We liked the small, friendly lounge bar and found this a much better place to drink than local bars outside the hotel. Breakfast was very good, offering plenty of variety, and personal requests were taken without hesitation. When a problem arose on arrival, we were moved to another room without any fuss, quickly and efficiently.

Stayed at this hotel a few times now when visiting the area. The price is really reasonable and I genuinely feel one of the better hotels in Bradford, its out of the way. Great parking with a lit car park, a good overall hotel. Haven't tried the breakfast there but there is a really nice little cafe/restaurant just round the corner on the industrial estate that's perfect for a morning meal.

Hotel itself was great and indeed nothing to fault but the best bit, is it's location. Shipley station is just around the corner, the canal is literally behind the hotel and less than five minutes to the River Aire, so, a great base to explore Bradford and the City of Culture. A great stay and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful old building with period features. Big hotel with lots of rooms and a good breakfast selection which was 8-11am so didn’t have to rush. Awoke to find a deer out on the grass, relaxing stay. Nice to have a bar and felt homely. Near the motorway was easy to get to in an uber from Bradford.
