Close to the pub and venue we were attending, receptionist was friendly, good service given, asked for iron and ironing board and brought up to the room

Clean and comfortable room with outside space. Great shower.
lovely homemade cookies in the room on arrival.
The staff are really friendly and professional and the food here is outstanding. Had dinner here but standard of food at breakfast was equally good.
In a really quiet area but also very close to Halifax. Shibden estate nearby worth a visit.

Roy and Sue are the hosts of the Griffin. They are the reason I gave such a good review. They are welcoming and kind. They went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The pub had friendly locals that added to our experience. The room was clean and quiet.

The people of Halifax were lovely.
The people of Halifax were lovely. It's a great town to wander around and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. We ate at La Luna, who found us a table on a really busy night and gave us great service. The Piece Hall is a great venue and the canal offers a lovely morning walk.

It was a pleasant stay, the room was good for the price, WiFi was excellent but there was a lot of stairs because there is no lift to upper floors, on booking.com there is a false information that there is no parking on site, but when we got there there was a parking across the road for hotel guest for £5 over nights, if this information was stated on the website I would of drive there instead of spending more money on trains,

Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm.
Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm. The Piece Hall is a spectacular piece of history and Architecture which, is being preserved by the trustees imaginative use of the grand space. Shopping, eateries, bars, seasonal events and entertainment. And, now it’s hosting some big name bands and doing really well. Lots of little market towns (Think - last of the summer wine) & historically rich in and around Halifax Town. Lots to do for entertainment if you visit

Supposed to be secured front door only access was a code provided but on arrival doors were open. On message to property they said they will get engineer out as no body as told them. That was not true as we met another guy staying at property and said he had told them several times.
Floor boards up in room letting in slugs and again told them and they said sorry and thanks for letting them know as first time this as happened, again not true as read other reviews.
Enjoyable tasty full english breakfast, made for us by Phil, our friendly host, which set us up for a day of touristing. To say the location was nice was an understatement as the views from our room were of voluminous beautiful lush green countryside and true to the hotel’s name, Shibden Hall identifiable nestled yonder in a bank of trees.
Quiet and peaceful location and surroundings. Short car trip to the city centre but the hotel location felt remote and secret. Beautiful building with lots of cosy corners and character. The room was lovely and light with nice furnishings and a comfortable bed.
We booked the hotel as we were attending a concert at the Piece Hall. The location was excellent. 100 yards from Halifax train station and 200 yards to the Piece Hall. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The hotel was fabulous. It had a superb bathroom, was clean and had a comfortable bed. The little touch of a breakfast was really appreciated. The communication from the owners was excellent too. I would definitely stay again.
