One of the most charming places I’ve ever stayed! I found it on booking.com in 2019, and have stayed there eight times since—my Halifax home. The people are wonderful, the food is fabulous and the setting? As tension-draining as it comes, just beautiful. You will NOT be disappointed!

Roy and Sue are the hosts of the Griffin. They are the reason I gave such a good review. They are welcoming and kind. They went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The pub had friendly locals that added to our experience. The room was clean and quiet.

We visited for a concert at Victoria Theatre and a few real ale pubs. They were excellent. The town is full of very old buildings and the Piece Hall is definately worth a look. The Vic is a superbly run old venue.

Halifax is a strange Yorkshire town, seemingly built on a hill, but is still worth a visit, particularly if you like the Dales and the scenery in the area.
I am from South Yorkshire originally, but am giving my honest opinion.
The only bugbear, was that there were extensive roadworks on the main routes, within and through the town, causing major delays all over, on the day I visited, and you all know how these can take ages to undertake!

The problem with Halifax at the moment is that the centre is under construction making it very hard to get from A to B. So mostly I found the place annoying!! That's why I spent most of the time out in the surrounding countryside...beautiful.

There was a lot going on in the peace hall there at the time of music festival. The shops are amazing there like the antiques shops and this retro video game shop what I found very cool as took me back in time 😄 also the bars and restaurants there are high quality at reasonable prices.

Excellent Location if travelling to Halifax for gig at PieceHall..its next door !!!!!... and across the road from train station̈. Staff were really friendly. Breakfast took a while but that's only a minor complaint...Great spot for a budget visit to beautiful Halifax
the location was great for our theatre visit and was accessible to all main attractions of Halifax
the hotel was acceptable in its condition but could be greatly improved with a bit of TLC
the breakfast was fantastic
They were really friendly and it is directly next to a pub. The house seems very old so the rooms have their own charme. It Was nice and quiet, different to the big hotels.
