The breakfasts are the best I’ve had anywhere. Delicious coffee, brown or white toast with honey or homemade marmalade, jams etc. Large selection of cereals with various fruits and toppings with delicious thick yogurt. Also a choice of hot porridge/oatmeal and cooked vegan, vegetarian and breakfast options in generous portions. What’s not to like! The room was tastefully decorated and very clean, with the bed in particular warm, and very comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely heated towel rail and bathtub/shower with copious amounts of hot water. Lovely thick towels in plenty and a dressing gown provided. The WiFi was excellent throughout and a radio and tv were available.

Excellent Location Opposite Halifax Train Station. The room was basic, clean, and beds very comfortable. The location is central to everything, and the place has some amazing architecture, and historical places to visit. All within walking distance. The staff are fabulous on reception. Wife was sick guy on reception in the morning was wonderful and caring. We will definately stay here again next year when we visit family.

More than world class hospitality, it was like family. We arrived very early in the morning after an overnight flight and were greeted with a warm smile and a key to our room which had been upgraded. That was quickly followed up with a lovely breakfast and beer. The grounds and view was so beautiful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We slept with the window open and there was zero noise from the street... so peaceful. I will absolutely stay here for future visits to this area.

Halifax is beautiful town full of great architecture, pubs...

Halifax is beautiful town full of great architecture, pubs and exiting places to eat, not least the piece hall where year round activities are held. It is surrounded by great countryside and little charming towns , canals and many many miles of gods own country making it a walkers paradise. The public transport, buses and railway links are excellent making it easy to get from place to place. Definitely something for everyone.

An older town that clearly has seen better days.

An older town that clearly has seen better days. Parking is expensive. One way system and roundabouts horrid, so all too easy to get lost. Yet, it has some nice buildings, an indoor market and some nice pubs.

Halifax town is a nice little place without being...

Halifax town is a nice little place without being overwhelmingly busy. We were there to attend a gig at The Piece Hall which is an excellent venue, both historic and having a great atmosphere. Piece Hall is well worth a visit as through the day all the independent small shops are open, ranging from craft makers to crystals, clothing and the obligatory 'magic' shop. There's plenty places to sit and enjoy a drink or a light meal. Halifax market is an impressive Victorian structure but sadlty the stalls don't really offer much in the way of interest. Westgate Arcade is an interesting part of town and close to Piece Hall. It's got a few independent shops, cafés and bars as well as places to enjoy a meal. Halifax is a good location for visiting other parts of West Yorkshire. Hebden Bridge and Haworth are both close by.

We stayed in Ovenden.

We stayed in Ovenden. Halifax looked great for bars and food - there was a concert on a Piece Hall when we were there. I would recommend Hebden Bridge, Ovenden and Haworth. My favourite discover is Saltaire with the Hockney Exhibition and wonderful shops and streets.

This is no-frills, budget accommodation in Halifax town centre. Well located close to the station and numerous restaurants. The hotel is a bit scruffy in places, but the room was clean and there was plenty of hot water and electric sockets. Breakfast choices: simple continental or cooked. Staff very friendly and helpful - thank you. Note: parking is now £5/night, not free. Park in the little car park in Alfred Street East, not in the nearby Eureka! car park.

Shibden Mill Inn is amazing! Tucked away in a pretty valley 10 mins from Halifax. Our room was really comfortable and clean, and the food at the hotel was superb! Breakfast was really good, with lots of choice. We were visiting the theatre in Halifax and the staff organised us a taxi from the hotel with no issues. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Halifax.

Breakfast was fine, staff were very friendly and welcoming, my room was very comfortable, clean and pleasantly furnished. The hotel was also very close to my workplace and centrally located in Halifax.
