Never judge a book by the cover. First impressions arriving Friday night was that it looke dirty, neglected and rough. After venturing out down the sea front on the Saturday it still had a grubby and seedy feel. However when we sneaked through the backstreets and squares how different the vibe changed. This place oozes with culture with cool markets, and places to eat. It was a completely different feel to the front. What we liked was it was a haven of independent shops, cafes and businesses and all of them were busy and brimming with life. I felt like we saw 2 Margates, the high street and the area we stayed was old, run down and almost derelict. Not at all what we was expecting and we was quite shocked based on reviews of people raving about the area.
