This family-run bed and breakfast is a Grade II listed, Regency building located in a magnificent quiet square, 984 feet from the seafront and directly above the Ramsgate ferry terminal. Able to park in street outside. Pleased to have a front room with sea view, could see sea when in bed. Compact bathroom but met our needs and was very clean. Excellent breakfast room as floor to ceiling screens between tables for current Covid situation. Room was quiet no traffic noise though floor above creaked a bit. Is an old building though. Many families visiting Ramsgate loved staying at The Falstaff Hotel & Restaurant Ramsgate, Albion House at Ramsgate, and Royal Temple Yacht Club.
Much improved town over recent years and great for weekend break all year round. Plenty of good restaurants and cafes. Plenty of places of interest to visit. Excellent cliff top promenade walks in both directions.
I've previously visited Ramsgate to go to gigs at the Music Hall, but having travelled in from the Medway Towns by car, all I ever did was park up opposite the venue and leave straight after, so it was nice to have a little bit of a wander around the seafront area having travelled by train on this occasion. What surprised me about Ramsgate is how lively it was for a seaside town - I was fully expecting to come back into the harbour area after the gig I attended at the Winterstroke Gardens and find everywhere closed, instead I found an environment which, if I let it go to my head too much, almost overlays my memory of walking along the seafront in Barcelona, but for the sake of realism, let's say it's more akin to a lot of people's favourite in the South East, Brighton.
Ramsgate is a great base. It is very lively, but if you want quiet you can walk along the cliffs to Pegwell Bay. There is a big sandy beach and a pretty harbour. Lots of historic buildings and plenty of restaurants and cafes. We also visited nearby Sandwich and Pegwell Bay
If you love the sea and are interested in boats and maritime history, it's a great place. The Maritime Museum is worth a visit. Ramsgate is good for walking and it has so many bars and restaurants, you'll never go hungry or thirsty. Broadstairs is in walking distance and worth a visit. Food at the Oak hotel was good. It's also worth walking up to West Cliff where there's a lovely Italian restaurant La Magnolia. If you walk along the marina, you'll find a little place called Ship Shape where you can sit outside and enjoy a bite to eat and then walk towards the Sailors Church.
Very run down high street but I like the harbour, promenade and beach. There’s plenty of character about Ramsgate. It’s very convenient to travel to and plenty of places to visit locally, and Canterbury by bus is good.
we keep to the harbour area for a short trip we had a evening meal in an Italian restaurant almost 'under' the Yacht Club which we have been to on both occasions we have visited the cafes are good for a breakfast we found the tunnels too, didn't go through them but the museum and cafe are worth a visit - for free !!!
This is a yacht club first and foremost, not a hotel. That in itself guarantees its unique character. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings, comfortable beds and are extremely quiet. Some have beautiful harbor views. The staff is outstanding. Very helpful and friendly. There are restaurants and coffee shops only a few steps away. It’s easy to explore Ramsgate and it’s harbor.
. Bed was comfortable, the bathroom was really clean. Only minor faults and that did not spoil our stay. We would stay here again but maybe with a room on the front of the hotel to get some air into the room. Really convenient for the places we wanted to stay. The meal we had in the evening was really good and excellent value
Ramsgate
Excellent location by the harbour in Ramsgate. I have stayed in a number of properties where the owner provides the minimum possible in terms of facilities and the quality of fittings etc. This property is an exception, it was well equipped (two fridges, quality cutlery/crockery, lots of bath towels etc.)
Didn't take breakfast. Haven't done on any of our previous visits, personal choice rather than anything to do with the hotel. This was our third visit. Both of us live relatively close to Ramsgate, and this is a great place to stay as a hideaway.
Ramsgate
Lovely sea views from the balcony and seating for balcony provided. Well stocked appartment with nice kitchen. Comfortable seating in the living area and very comfortable bed. Convenient location with pleasant walks to Ramsgate and Broadstairs.
The breakfast is very good with great quality food and the dinning area is good with good decor and good view. The bathroom size is big. The hotel is near a quiet beach and it has its own bar and restaurant.
Beautifully restored house on the cliff overlooking Ramsgate Harbour. We used it as a base for the Loop bus for trips to Margate and Broadstairs. It’s a quiet haven away from the bustle and quite luxurious.
Lovely quaint hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Standard of cleanliness was brilliant. Perfect location on the harbour. Great food too.
