The hotel is located on Chaweng Beach, one of Samui’s most beautiful beaches, with fine white sand that isn’t too brown, making it a great location. The hotel and rooms are fairly new and beautifully designed. It is recommended to choose the Sea View building, as the City View rooms are in a separate building across the street.

It’s a family owned business and the staff are very passionate, helpful and friendly. The location is super close to the main road, 8 minute walk to the chabad, and 2 minute walk to the beach through the resort. If you’re looking for the party/ nightlife area it’s a 25 minute walk from the main party nightlife area (Ark Bar, Elphant, Green Mango, SoundClub) but it didn’t bother us too much. Bed was huge and comfortable, had storage room, and cleaning service and laundry service was great. Quiet area and we had a pretty view of the mountains.

    Chaweng is a beautiful destination for a chill out holiday The Jungle Tour is definitely worth doing & don't be afraid to barter the price Lots of eateries with great selection of food to choose from Fishermans Market is very pretty at night & there are bargains to be had If you hire a car or scooter - by careful if you like to dabble in the Green because the Police will pull you over & you will get a hefty fine - not worth it - grab a taxi or the local rides (which are cheap)

    I think I would prefer to go a bit further to Lamai beach.

    I think I would prefer to go a bit further to Lamai beach. 10km away. The private taxi from the airport cost 400baht to go the 2 km. Walk past the desk and locate a normal taxi. I found that the normal price for a taxi is 500baht for 10km or 600baht for 15km.

    Chaweng has something for everyone. we were 2 50+ adults...

    Chaweng has something for everyone. we were 2 50+ adults with our 28 year old son and girlfriend. They enjoyed the nightlife on the strip with some friends and we enjoyed some lovely lunches and and beach days in a nice resort whilst they recovered from the nights excesses. You can arrange excursions to other islands easily. I would caution against staying up the big hills as it puts the taxi drivers off.

    If your expectations are cottage chic, you’re going to be...

    If your expectations are cottage chic, you’re going to be happy. If it’s hotel with amenities, your reaction will be a bit surprised. I wish they provided more than just a bar of soap and one towel each. No bathmat, no hand towels, no shampoo. Air conditioning was excellent. The rooms were clean but the bathroom window didn’t close so there were spiders, but we were in a jungly atmosphere so I didn’t mind. The restaurant prices were high so we didn’t eat there. Tons of restaurants, 7-Elevens and the Chaweng night market nearby.

    Very convenient to be central with everything near by. Highly recommend Chaweng beach location. Great location to watch planes arriving and departing over the beach at low altitude. Great photo opportunity for those interested.

    Chaweng is heaving with tourists, far too many for me.

    Chaweng is heaving with tourists, far too many for me. The traffic both cars and motorbikes are gridlocked with traffic fumes when you have are inevitably stationery. This year the number of rental cars have increased hugely and it can take an hour to go a distance when several years ago only took 15 minutes. Even on a motorbike/scooter it takes a long time to get anywhere. The pavements are very uneven and I imagine difficult if you have a kids pushchair. Impossible for wheelchair users. Taxi drivers are very dishonest unless you pre book them. There are many disused shops/buildings that have fell into disrepair that give chaweng a forlorn uncared for ambience unless you are in a luxury hotel.

    We had a great stay at Baan Chaweng! The staff was really nice and accomodating. They helped us book tours, cars, and provided us with everything we needed, especially on the day that we left and had to check out but still wanted to hang out at the hotel before our late flight. The breakfast was great with a wonderful view of the ocean. The location of the resort was perfect. Right in the middle of the party area, but without being the actual party itself so to say. The hotel kept exceeding my expectations for every day that we stayed there.
