We have been before. Sadly, Cefalu is becoming very busy now. We've been many times previously and have noticed the increase in tourism. We can't complain. We're tourists ourselves. Cefalu is one of the best summer destinations to visit in Sicily. The scenery, beach, the old city, restaurants and train access makes this an excellent tourist destination. Beautiful location, lovely old town with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Beach is golden sand and plenty private and public beaches along the front promenade. Train from Palermo was quite straight forward. The sunset is just stunning! Loved the room we had at Horizon Suites, large and roomy...
Loved the room we had at Horizon Suites, large and roomy with a terrace. Very friendly staff and clean. Luckily we had arranged parking with them as parking anywhere is very difficult. Only there for one night but time enough to look around the old town and have a delicious dinner in one of the restaurants by the beach. As we left for dinner stopped for a drink in a bar on the promenade and caught the sunset which was beautiful. Looking back would like to have stayed a bit longer. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cefalu. Should mention this is my second review as I did the first one on my phone and put my final score in by mistake. We ate our dinners in the hotel too; there was a reasonably good choice for vegetarians and the quality was excellent. Prices were comparable to what we would have paid to eat in town. Salvo and his family were incredible hosts, welcoming us with warmth and genuine care. The breakfast was delightful spread of fresh fruit, local pastries and cakes.
