My family and I had the pleasure of staying at The Marcliffe Hotel for one night from Sunday, August 10 to Monday, August 11, 2025, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This five-star hotel truly lives up to its reputation, thanks to its outstanding staff and impeccable service. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Carly at reception. As a party of four, we initially faced an issue with the hotel’s policy of allowing only two people per room. Carly went above and beyond to understand our situation and promptly secured a second room for us, ensuring our stay was comfortable and stress-free. Her professionalism and kindness made a lasting impression—thank you, Carly!🙏 The dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was a highlight of our stay. The meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and showcased the culinary expertise of the kitchen team. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. The next morning, we had an early flight to catch, and the staff’s thoughtfulness truly shone through. Tony, who was in charge of the front area, was incredibly accommodating and arranged for special sandwiches to be packed for our journey. These were expertly prepared by Chef Dave and Fraser in the kitchen, and we could taste the care and pride they put into their work. The sandwiches were a lifesaver and made our travel day so much more pleasant.👍👌 The hotel itself is elegant and comfortable, but it’s the exceptional service that sets it apart. We can’t recommend The Marcliffe enough and will definitely return on our next visit to Aberdeen. Thank you to Carly, Tony, Chef Dave, Fraser, and the entire team for making our short stay so special!

The location is very central but off the main drag. Good pub underneath. Can be noisy until closing time but all part of the fun! Rooms are differing sizes but even the smallest are comfy. The fridge in the rooms are useful.

The beach is long and clean.

The beach is long and clean. There is a lot of construction work ongoing at the ice rink and swimming pool. It will be very good. Amustments and funfair open at 10. Ideal for the kids. The City is great for walking with nice parks with mostly clean streets. Of course it has its not so nice parts where the junkies hang about, every major city or town has them. Art gallery and museums worth a visit. loads of eating places.

Never visited before- Aberdeen shone in the sunlight.

Never visited before- Aberdeen shone in the sunlight. Very Green on all road approaches and into the city. Great character - reminded me in many ways of Edinburgh [a city I do love]. I was expecting a grimy / dirty experience but it was far from that. Really impressed..... Lovely eatery options and pubs / entertainment. Docks also much bigger than expected. Tarragon on the Terrace gave us our best meal of a two week trip around both the Orkneys & Mainland Scotland - just excellent. Very walkable City Centre - not flat but that adds character. Don't be afraid to go down the steps / side streets etc. if you can. The Maritime Museum must get a special mention, really interesting and amazingly free to enter - entirely worth a visit.

    It’s a big gray city.

It’s a big gray city. A lots of lovely parks and pathways to walk (to Torry Batery, to Brig O’Braowine, by the beach…). It’s also a city with a lot of history and sometimes very dark and morbid. They are lots of hidden or very big street arts around the city which makes walking in the city pretty interested.

The granite city has a lot going for it and you don't appreciate quite how much there is overnight. I especially like the Art Gallery, Pittodrie is a proper old school football stadium, plenty of shopping facilities and places to eat.

The receptionist greats you with manners, friendly and very polit, for what I paid for the room was reasonable and very clean. The bed sheets were fresh and white and i mean white. I travelled up to scotland as my grandmother was in hospital. Therefore bookings were last minute. Bon Accord Street is less than 3 minutes from Union Street, which is the main road that runs through Aberdeen City Centre. Would i stay again an the answer is yes. I will be coming back to stay.

We have been driving around Scotland for 10 days and stayed in various B&B's, which has it's charm, but it was really nice to arrive at a hotel where things were 100% living up to expectations and price was cheaper than B&B's We especially enjoyed the pool area - at 4.00 pm only 8 people in total Nice breakfast selection
