FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

For a City, that if you include surrounding area, that has 38 million people, it is amazing how clean, organized, and has the best public transportation in the World!! Can you believe little to no Crime, and certainly no major Crime, a 5 year old girl can walk & travel on the public transportation by herself and will totally safe!!

Teamlabs Borderless was terrific. Tokyo is really clean and safe. Subway and other public transport is excellent and made travelling around the city really easy. Loads of choice for eating from traditional Japanese to fast food and even lovely Italian restaurants. Small cafes also provide good coffee or wine with nibbles.

If you like anime, gaming, and pop culture, go to Akihabara.

If you like anime, gaming, and pop culture, go to Akihabara. Yodobashi (large scale shopping complex), AmiAmi, Animate, and Mandrake are all within a few blocks of each other, littered with smaller streetside shops along the way. For a more traditional experience, I highly recommend taking the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto. There are shrines, pagodas, and historical landmarks just about everywhere, but Kyoto seems to have best preserved the essence of Japan’s history while Tokyo looks to Japan’s future.

I usually strive to get the 'feel' of the city, trying to 'belong' there. Seeking places outside the main attractions. But Tokyo itself is the attraction! Confronting contrast between ebullient center and quietness of other places. Speed and efficiency of the metro system. Polite respect everywhere

Stayed 4th time in this hotel, really good localization (direct train to and from Narita, 2 metro stops from shinkansen stations), neibourhood is not crowded and really nice, one of the cheapest prices for that standard in Tokyo and still close to Akihabara, Ueno, Chiyoda, Odaiba, Meguro and Shibuya, all below 1h train trip. Hotel have wide beds, so even if you're tall you can manage to sleep comfortable. Service always at top notch, helpful, clean rooms and corridors. On 1F there is laundry and mini convenience store with microwave.

We like the building, it's modern. Staffs are friendly and I love their toiletries, complete and quality 👌 The location is fabulous because it is walking distance to train stations which are very convenient for us firs timer in Tokyo to go places like Shibuya, Ginza, Roppongi, etc. Additionally, we love the area of Hotel Mystays because it's quiet, walking distance to BizTower for coffee shops, very accessible to restaurants, parks, and temples.

Great location, great staff, comfy rooms and clean facilities. The lunch menu at Bellustar restaurant was awesome, simply delicious. The hotel is on Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, where you also have Bandai Namco Tokyo, an awesome food hall with live music and great food, as well as bars and restaurants. Close to the Shinjuku station as well. All around, I would definitely visit again. Thanks for everything!

Excellent location: 4 metro stations to Tokyo Train Station, relatively close to Shibuya and Shinjuku. Very quiet but still central. Supermarket across the street. Japanese style room with marvellous view over the city and with a lot of space. Breakfast for a fee of 2300 Yen, worth the money. The hotel itself is relatively cheap in comparison with hotels in Shinjuku or Shibuya.
