As my main reason was to visit relatives and revisit my parents place of birth, I had not researched things to do or visit but feel the area offered much in the way of easy walking distance for eateries, country vistas, ease of access to transport, historical information and plenty of opportunity to explore the countryside, parks, gardens, manors, tow paths, streams, lakes and walking tracks. Beautiful views as you are driving though the moors to reach your destination. Local amenities for all the family, attended a family wedding nearby lovely food at the The White Hart Hotel Quaint little villages on route. Just absolutely beautiful. Beautiful little cottage with vintage furnishings maintaining the history of the building. Gorgeous real fire and logs provided. Amazing views across the hills with Manchester lighting up the sky in the distance. Fully equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. Excellent location to enjoy everything Saddleworth has to offer.
