AMAZING!! Super cozy vibes, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hosts were VERY kind and welcoming. Genuinely felt like I was at a friend's home instead of a hostel.

We were very happy with our stay! The apartment was beautiful, spotless, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The sofa bed felt just like a real bed, super comfortable! The location was great, only 8-10 minutes from the city center and close to lots of restaurants and bars. Antonio, the host, was incredibly kind and welcoming, he even left us coffee, water, and pastries. Would definitely stay here again!

The apartment was in a great, strategic location—right in the city centre. While the taxi couldn’t stop directly in front, it was able to drop me just two doors away, which was perfectly fine. I contacted the host to ask if I could drop off my luggage earlier than check-in time, and they kindly allowed me to do so at 11 AM. The room was ready by 1 PM, and they had already placed my luggage inside for me, which I really appreciated. The host also tried to help book a taxi for my early morning ride at 4 AM, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to secure one. As a result, I booked one myself through Booking.com, which cost me €66 due to the night tariff and limited availability of taxis in the area at that hour. The apartment was on level one, and there were a few stairs to climb with my large luggage. Thankfully, the stairs were normal-sized (not too narrow), and I managed with the big suitcase. The host kindly helped me carry it up, which I really appreciated. The apartment itself felt like a 5-star hotel—stylish and clean—but it was missing a few key things. There was no view,but very quiet so it depends what you like if you want view is noisy without view is quiet ,for me neither one is really a bother . I wasn’t sure if I could use the fridge in the hallway as is not fridge in the room or if the drinks/snacks inside were for guests. No one explained whether things like yogurt or snacks were available, so I didn't touch them.In the room, I was provided with bottled water, a small apricot cake, coffee, and tea, which was a nice touch. However, I really missed having a fridge in the room—it would’ve been great to have cold water on such a hot summer day. It’s a small thing, but on a canicular (scorching) day, it makes a big difference.There were also slippers provided, which was nice, but again—no fridge. The bed was listed as a queen size, but it was actually a double. It’s a bit small for two people, especially if you're tall—so keep that in mind.

We really enjoyed our time at Ottavo Portone while we were in Bologna. The apartment is large and airy with lots of windows. Lara greeted us and helped us up the stairs with the bags. (yes, it's upstairs, but totally worth the effort!) The living area was huge with a comfy sofa and chair as well as a roomy table with ample chairs. The little kitchen, very typically Italian, was perfect for making breakfasts and snacks. And I'm certain it would be adequate for other basic meals, but with so many amazing restaurants in Bologna, why eat in!? We appreciated having the washing machine and the drying rack. Bedrooms were also large and comfy. Lara was a joy to meet and was very responsive to any question. The walk to the main piazza takes about 15 minutes.
