FAQs about hotels in Málaga

he Colorful Soul of the Costa del Sol

The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.

There’'s also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.

A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.

From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

I liked the cycle ride into the city, and exploring the old town and port. I enjoyed a self-guided architecture walk/cycle ride. We cycled to the botanical gardens which were amazing. The old town was lovely and Picasso's house was very interesting. The food was delicious.

Have visited Malaga many times and quite often go for the Xmas lights which are amazing. We’ve travelled a lot and this is one of our favourite cities. Great shopping, restaurants and cultural areas. Beaches good too. Easily accessible from the airport by train at 2.80 euros. We drove along the coast to Nerja for 4 nights, then 1 night in Granada to visit the Alhambra then back to Malaga for 2 nights. The train from the airport is fantastic 10mins and only 2.60 euros. Malaga old town is lovely to explore as well as the Alcazabra. Everything is really good value for money. The walkway we have cycled before right to then end El Palo which is lovely stopping for a swim at the beaches along the way. The mariner is also great for an evening drink and to watch the super yatchs!
