The hotel provided everything we needed for our stay in Strahan. Did you know that it is pronounced Strawn? I had no idea either. :) This hotel is up on a hill, so be prepared for a little hike on your way back from town. No big deal, unless you have trouble walking in general. We took advantage of the laundry machines, and the dinner at the restaurant was wonderful and proved to me that pavlova is actually quite tasty.

    Motel Strahan was a great find.

    Motel Strahan was a great find. The cabins was warm and comfortable, and the staff were helpful with tips about the best places to eat, etc. Unfortunately, the boat tour on MacQuarie Harbour was not available on the one full day we stayed in Strahan, but using that time to travel on the West Coast Wilderness Railway made up for that disappointment. The trip to Teepookana was a great experience, and well worth every penny. Strahan is a real 'get away from it all' town, and we look forward to coming back again in the future.

    The food at the Pub was awesome, we walked from the caravan park into town at night for dinner, we saw dolphins hanging in close by the jetty. During the day was very picturesque. We didn't get a chance to explore much as we were only there a day but was a very cute little town and very hospitable

    The Gordan River Cruise is a must. As someone from the other side of Australia who saw the fight to save the wilderness as “just another way to avoid work”. I’m grateful for their efforts. Simply amazing.

    ….the heritage cruises for boarding, and so close to the wonderful falls and park area. The IGA is managed beautifully with everything needed (open till 6.30pm for convenience) Strahan is a must visit place to stay and enjoy

    The Gordon river trip is a must and I would highly recommend...

    The Gordon river trip is a must and I would highly recommend to upgrade to premium. You will not regret it. The wood mill is very interesting and again would high recommend. The local hotel also makes some great meals and they are very good size serves. Overall a very peaceful place and we will be back to continue exploring

    Strahan is a lovely village on the west coast of Tasmania.

    Strahan is a lovely village on the west coast of Tasmania. It’s very pretty & has great facilities. There’s a fantastic foreshore walk & a number of good walking trails in the area. We had a great meal at Hamer’s bistro. A must for visitors to Strahan

    I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Strahan area. We travelled with another couple, and there was an abundance of bedrooms to choose from. The house was larger than expected, and extremely comfortable in every area. The view was amazing, and it was quite close to the main area of Strahan. The kitchen was amazing, and the whole house clean and suitable for our needs. The host was easy to contact and lovely to interact with. We would definitely stay here again if travelling in Tasmania.

    The location is breathtaking. You really can't fault it. The facilities are good with restaurants etc. We ate the first night in the Kitchen and booked the Bistro for the second. Both were good with nice food and service. All the staff are lovely and everything is so convenient. We went on the Gordon River Cruise and that is going to remain a highlight of our visit to Strahan and even Tasmania!

    Fabulous character cottage in a central location. Walking distance to pub and Gordon River Cruise terminal. The hosts, Kerry and Kellie, have put a lot of thought into making our stay very comfortable. Even supplying timber for the fire. Thank you very much and would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Strahan.
