San Marcos is a nice town it's that Motel that has poor management. We have been having to stay at a different more expensive Motel. Until we find a home to rent. I wouldnt recommend that specific Motel 6 not even for my worst enemy. Thats how bad management is at that Motel.As long as that old rude lady continues working there. Way better than Austin in so many ways. Funky yet unpretentious. Low key yet adventure everywhere. Jump in the San Marcos river from so many spots around town and since it's spring fed it's not only crystal clear but the water is 72 degrees year round. Having spent a few days in Austin, whilst it was great for shops and eating out it was harder for parking and driving in rush hour took a bit of getting used to not being used to drive on the right hand side. San Marco was smaller, more places to walk and enough facilities for if you want a more nature oriented trip. I fished two stretches of river there with a guide so it was a good place to be based for that. The park/water park is also a nice relaxing place to spend a few days.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom
