And even fixed my broken bag 😱 the staff is just a role model! Amazing. the garden with a swimming pool is cozy and quiet, a wonderful yoga spot. The food and prices in the restaurant are pleasant. Wow, what a two week away we had! The pictures do not do the place (or surroundings!) justice; it is astonishingly beautiful. Very informative check-in instructions, absolutely spotlessly clean inside and out, incredibly comfortable beds and soft linen, the house is far bigger than the pictures suggest, very well equipped kitchen and the sensational view from every window..it was the best holiday we've ever been on. Thank you Isuru for having us, we would love to stay again!

The place was just few minutes from the beach. There is an outside sitting area and table which we really enjoyed. There was nice breeze in the evening since it’s located on the upper floor. The family was very helpful for our needs and breakfast was fantastic! Highly recommended 🌟

Serendip Villa Holiday Home Talalla Sri Lanka, hotel in Talalla South

Serendip Villa Holiday Home Talalla Sri Lanka offers air-conditioned accommodations in Talalla South. There's a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.

The whole place is very peaceful and super clean. We were welcomed with a mice cool freshly squeezed juice and the ac was already on in the room, such a nice welcome. It’s a 10 min walk to Talalla beach, which is by far the quietest beach we have seen in Sri Lanka. Just 50 m outside the stay are two shops, one for fruits the other one like a mini super market, so you can buy all supplies if you would like to cook your own food. There is a kitchen with all essential tools, a fridge, microwave and a kettle. Our breakfast was included and it was good with toasted bread, a plate of fruits, fried eggs and tea (or coffee). Probably one of the nicest things in the property was the water cooler and guests are free to use it. They also have two bikes that are in good shape when compared to other ones we used in Sri Lanka. What’s more they didn’t charge for the use at all, so we biked to Hiriketiya beach and back. The hot shower is good with adjustable pressure if you would like to use it. The staff and the owners are super friendly and nice as well. Would definitely like to stay here again, for longer time. Feels just like home, super comfortable! Absolutely recommended!

Talalla Wonder View, hotel in Talalla South

Just a few steps from Talalla Beach and a 17-minute walk from Gandara Beach, Talalla Wonder View features accommodations in Talalla South, with a garden.

Upon arrival at Talalla Wonder View I was met by Darshani, the utterly adorable young woman who runs the establishment. Wonder View is a small, safe, family run establishment (just 2 rooms) that overlooks the beautiful crescent-shaped white sand beach. It is at the extreme southern end of the beach which is a lovely area. Wonder View has several thatched cabanas with comfy padded lounge chairs right on the beach where you can easily spend an afternoon or two or three. My room was small and basic but with everything I needed including an excellent mosquito net, fan, comfortable bed and an outlet to charge electronics. Between the fan and the slightly cooler nights, I slept well. The water pressure in the bathroom tended to ebb and flow but was fine for showering. There is no hot water if that is important to you, but you don’t really need it and personally I found the cool water refreshing. The rooms share a spacious terrace that overlooks the beach and it’s another great place to relax. Just don’t don’t leave any snacks unattended because there are monkeys that will pinch your food in a hot second! Breakfast, which was included, was provided at the family’s Tree Top restaurant next door. You will be served a substantial Sri Lankan-western meal that you can enjoy with a pot of tea or coffee while gazing out at the beach. Sweet! There are also other restaurants nearby for drinks and meals. Worth noting: the path to the beach and the steps up to the Tree Top Restaurant might be challenging for someone with mobility issues. A handrail on the path would help keep everyone safe. For the price, view, delightful host and beach access, Talalla Wonder View is fantastic value!

    Lovely quiet beach.

Lovely quiet beach. Eat at Tree Tops (worth the climb) and see monkeys during the day and fruit bats in the evening. Funny Banana dies fabulous good too - go for the village breakfast and the grilled prawns!

Talalla is a hidden gem with a long stretch of beach with crystal clear blue water. Both ends of the beach are hills with tall coconut trees and green vegetation. It is a mellow and quiet place to relax.

Oh where should I start! The location is impeccable.

Oh where should I start! The location is impeccable. As soon as you walk in, you see and hear the gorgeous Sri Lankan ocean waves. The untouched and simple shores of Talalla beach are practically a part of the hotel. It's the perfect setting to get back to nature and yourself. Serene, calm, peaceful. Plus there's things to do around the area too if you want to do a bit of wandering and sightseeing. The staff is 10/10 at all times. Dillion and Hesh, this husband wife duo that manage the property are some of the most interesting people we've met and take such pride in managing the place. They truly treated us like friends, not guests. They've also trained the rest of the team to be completely tuned to your needs. You won't have to ask for anything twice. And everyone in the team is happy and have big smiles on their faces! The service from start to end was great, we weren't left wanting for anything. The rooms are very well designed. They're simple and comfortable and very spacious. They have everything you need. And only 4 rooms on the property so you get a chance to get to know the other guests as well! The food is also 10/10. Delicious no matter what you order! There are two chefs, both excellent. I'm vegan and my husband vegetarian, and they made us great food everyday of our stay. We found everything we ate to be made with the most organic ingredients and with so much love. One of the days, it was raining like crazy and we had a craving for Maggi, and they kindly whipped us up some delicious noodles even though they weren't on the menu! Overall the whole trip was more than what we expected. I'd recommend the place for any kind of holiday. We're already planning our next one back!

Talalla in July was lovely, weather-wise - but not a lot of beach as the tides are quite high during July/August. Surf was also a bit rough for swimming at this time, however nearby Hiriketiya was much safer for swimming and surfing - and a very pretty little bay as well. In Dikwella/Hiriketiya there are some very cool little cafes like Mond (just opened, very cool architecture) and Verse (tasty food and cool vibe). We also had fantastic massages at Amor Wellness in Dikwella - beautiful, tranquil space and fantastic staff (Laki, the ‘host’, was super friendly and welcoming). All of this is a 10min tuk tuk ride from Talalla.
